mikerl Posted March 30, 2017 Share Posted March 30, 2017 I had a different problem with the meadowlark, I can't use the crew report. After putting a Kerbal in one of the seats, I selected crew report, but KSP tells me "not enough crew" to perform it. The arrows should be down and the shocks vertical. If they are just put straight on without any rotation. The whole wheel mounting plate will not point down and you will see horizontal shocks. If I wanted to modify the cfg file so that the wheels had a bit more traction; which parameter would you change? The mass, minimum_drag or angular drag. SA. RLS is needed for the wings included in the pack, so I'm guessing they wanted to keep the pack as a single DL. The way I see it, if the updated DLL is more useful, linuxgurugamer would've swapped it out and pushed an update out already. Seeing as the pack works out-of-the-box, it's probably not a pressing matter. @linuxgurugamer is a busy man spread thin with all the mods he's adopted or has a hand in. If anything, he might have other changes pending that'll justify a version update that'll be a good excuse to include the new DLL. (Or is waiting for such changes and updates to come along from user feedback. He relies on the user-base in order to test, find, fix and update things.) SXT is a pretty big mod too, filesize-wise. Unless the previous DLL had major bugs, pushing an update for just the DLL change is kinda excessive. I figure only players that deal with manual installed mods would care, and would do it on their own time and perogative. CKAN users shouldn't have to worry. If not, then the next release of SXT will have the new dll. The RLS was just updated yesterday. It seems to have broken some of my craft that was built from the previous version 3.9.1 ...basically what happen is that some craft were missing its tail cones and other craft that had the hump back have grown in size (the hump itself) which threw my craft out of proportion making them look disfigured. I was forced to revert back to 3.9.1 because in 3.10 i would basically have to rebuild the whole thing (i have quite a lot of craft that use this mod)...and most of these were uploaded to KerbalX so i can imagine what people are getting when they load up the craft...is there any way this could be fixed, so i wont have to go back and fix every single craft with this issue. Thank you for your time. No need to double post. That sounds like a bug I encountered when changing the scaling type of parts to something that used a different set of relative numbers. Like surface uses 1.0 as a default and free uses 100. If you take a part that was surface and make it free the load a vessel that used it, the part would vanish, its technically still there, just scaled to 1% because it was saved with a scale factor of 1.0, but its now expecting a 100 to be that size part. I made sure not to change any scale types. I looked at the commit and I did change the default scale of surface attach parts, they were all set to 1.25 and I made them 1.0. Its seems like having the default scale set to 1.25 would have made the part a different base size depending on if you had tweakscale installed or not, which seemed like a bad idea. If you want to perform an experiment, try editing the config and replace every instance of type = surface defaultScale = 1.0 with type = surface defaultScale = 1.25 and load the vessel again. Only using the Clyde right now, so here are the texture changes that I know work - clydeInternal.zip I didn't like the "tinted" windows since you could see a large texture seam around the edges so I made the model000.dds file completely transparent. if anyone wants the windows tinted a bit dark grey just rename the model000.tint file to model000.dds after deleting/renaming the current file. mechanicH Posted April 9, 2017 Share Posted April 9, 2017 @eberkain Ok so did as you said..and did the experiment...and it WORKS..well partially...it worked perfectly on the hump back part like a charm..all craft that had it installed came back to proper size... Now the only problem i cant figure out is why the nose cone is missing...to be very specific it is the Conformal Rocket Cone Mk3....i use it as a tail cone for most my jet liners ...now the part itself is there in the list(in game) and in the cfg and i think its properly written in for the tweak scale..but for the life of me i cant figure out why it disappears from the craft along with everything that is attached to it..i been looking through the files for a few hours now, but i haven't figured it out yet...if you have time can you give it a look....like is said before in 3.9.1 it pops up on the craft..but in 3.10 it pulls a Houdini on me. Oh i also edited the TweakScale file for all surface parts to 1.25 and found a few surface parts that were missing the defaultScale, ill put it up here if you want to put it in your next update. Let me know if you find anything on that nose cone.. Now the only problem i cant figure out is why the nose cone is missing...to be very specific it is the Conformal Rocket Cone Mk3....i use it as a tail cone for most my jet liners ...now the part itself is there in the list(in game) and in the cfg and i think its properly written in for the tweak scale..but for the life of me i cant figure out why it disappears from the craft along with everything that is attached to it..i been looking through the files for a few hours now, but i haven't figured it out yet...if you have time can you give it a look....like is said before in 3.9.1 it pops up on the craft..but in 3.10 it pulls a Houdini on me. Oh i also edited the TweakScale file for all surface parts to 1.25 and found a few surface parts that were missing the defaultScale, ill put it up here if you want to put it in your next update. Let me know if you find anything on that nose cone.. SXTProtonlikeNoseCone and that is one of the parts that did not have tweakscale. I would say that it is loading the part and looking for a tweakscale value, but not finding one so not telling what it is doing. One would hope that it would assign a default value based on the config type, but looks like it doesn't? You could either delete that part from the tweakscale config, that should let you load it back up, or try making a backup of the vessel file and edit it by hand to add in the tweakscale node with its default scaling size. @pellinor what is your take? So if you set 1.25 you should still get the unscaled part, and the UI should show "1.25" (in the case of the surface scaletype). I think I did also make sure that saved crafts would survive a change of defaultScale. I am only aware of issues if defaultScale is not a legal value, for example if defaultScale=1 and the range is from 10-400[%]. The the UI will jump to the nearest legal value (in this case 10), and the part will be huge. Generally it should be perfectly safe to add and remove a TweakScale module from an unscaled part. The only thing I had happen for custom patches is the effect from above with defaultScale outside of the scaling range.
