Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in Star Wars, has now become one with the force

I was devastated when I heard the news, and planned to go crank out Darth Vader memes as a response.

But I decided: NO, I will do something else...

Thanks to my handy 16-gig computer, I had Space Engine working better and faster than anytime before. My new idea was to find a near-perfect analogue to Alderaan inside the Leo 1 Dwarf galaxy, then edit its surface and atmosphere until it was almost indistinguishable from Leia's homeworld. I had to do two different surveys for the lucky planet, each one covering an area of 100 light-years. The ONLY one was RS 3854-2-4-3010-193 3, a temperate terra with a radius just 100 km greater than that of Alderaan. It was a near-physical and orbital match to the Star Wars planet, but had a cool twist: It orbited TWO SUNS along with ANOTHER habitable terra. I went to work editing the Alderaan analogue and made this beauty...

Here's an image of Alderaan for comparison...

They're almost identical! I figure this is a worthy way to remember Carrie Fisher. Full album here: http://imgur.com/a/mnfaA

Rest in Peace, Carrie Fisher. May the Force be with you and all of us.

Spoiler

Sidenote here, I have a question: What Imgur topic would this album best fit in - Science and Tech, Gaming, Reaction, or Current Events?

Its so sad that she and others have died but i guess you have to think, alot of the actors are between 50-60 years old and seeing the famous ones passing away may be a sign that the Next generation of celebs will be here.

It used to be a celeb a week, now it's a celeb or two a day.

I wonder who else will part with us in the final 56 hours of 2016....

Well, some football star tripped and died earlier today. I mean, REALLY? How much does the Universe hate us?

I seriously doubt this will all stop in 2017. It actually feels like we're gearing up for some sort of end timey-stuff that the conspiracy theorists have been blurting out for a while. Let's just hope no other really famous movie stars are lost these next two days...or the next week.

Relax. The world already ended in 2012 and nothing even happened!
