Microsoft Flight Simulator (any version)

Been very much on and off with FSX. Still haven't completed my x-country Canadian tour though... One day when spare time and willpower is plenty. I have played various flight sims since very simplistic sims on the Commodore 64. Solo Flight, anyone?

As for preparing for flying anything in KSP, I'd say no unless a player comes into the sim world with no concept at all about flight sims. Even then it's going to be limited to figuring out that you can pitch the nose up and down etc. Flight physics in KSP is very kerbal indeed. For the rocket part, might as well prepare with Pac Man, just as useful as any filght sim.

The one on the Apple ][

Amazing for the time, graphics sucked

Mine was the PC version. I still have the floppy (somewhere). Not too too long ago I had it running on my old Compaq portable (all 30-some-odd-lbs of it), 4 inch green mono screen. My favorite bug in V1.0 was to roll over and dive inverted... you'd gain altitude like mad lol.

I played Chuck Yeager's Flight Sim on my IBM clone way back in the early 90's. Shooting for the moon in an SR-71 in amber monochrome, woohoo! I think I may have even landed it once.

Other than that I played quite a bit of Combat Flight Simulator 3 on PC, but never played FSX or anything else in that series. I got fairly proficient in that, and flying was much easier than in KSP. Lots of fun with infinite ammo, chaining a string of 1000lb bombs across the countryside. Even with my joystick, I find that KSP flight is too twitchy.

Oh, I loved CFS3, but I haven't found a way to play it on my newer Win10 machine... :(

Still, when I'm building KSP planes, I try to get them to fly as nicely as any flight sim... yeah.....

It just shows that building a plane ain't rocket science.. oh, wait... yes it is... lol....

I just wish I could get a community around   a Air Traffic Controlled community but for flights in KSP. So you fly a set path and do set jobs with set aircraft but have to call up for clearance and the whole thing but in KSP.

Tried it before and didn't work. :/ Would love to try again.
