I'm off on a four day wilderness survival camp tomorrow, it's -3 at 7am and only 15 at midday. We have to make our own shelter and sleep in it the whole time, forage for food, and everything. Completely self sufficient for four days. So, I can always say this: "Well, it's been nice knowing ya all!" You're a human. Humans are one of the scariest animals out there. kerbiloid
But try to avoid: Ancient burial grounds (especially if a local cat tried to hunt your dog). Never bury somebody from your group there, or at least first reload the gun and check your shoelaces. Old depleted mines (especially if they light in the night). A nice and pleasant farmer house owned by welcoming and hospitable married couple (especially, especially if they call each other Ma and Pa or so). Never (just never!) eat a fruit pie which they have cooked by their family recipe, better throw a piece to their dog and look at their faces. If some circumstances made you sleep in their house, first check what's under the window and can you silently open it with closed eyes. Obviously don't sleep in the bed, who knows what's hidden below and above it. Remember: 3+1 knocks in the door = "it's ok, that's me", 2+3 knocks = "that's me, but they hold a gun at my head". Green Baron
Wikipedia, don't trust it unchecked ! Referring especially to the texts about Bronze Age and ancient Egypt. They are grossly misleading. But it'll take much too long to correct it and i am not an "Egyptologist" myself. According to a wikimedia blog page the editors don't even have an academic training, so what makes them more knowledgeable then ourselves ? Do not trust Wikipedia unchecked, go to the sources yourselves ! Preaches in a late ancient Egyptian desert the Green Baron

Hopefully there's something for him.

Sounds loads better than wilderness where I am. It includes dirt, sand, dust, mesquite, and 100F(38c) days.

There are arid areas but most are medium foresting (bamboos, coconuts and bananas don't compete with canopy trees so it's slightly in the open, inside proper forests there are a few other things but I'm not sure on their frequency and reliability). And then you came across the rivers, ponds, lakes or even shore where you could fish.
StrandedonEarth
The air is hazy, the light is orange, and everything smells like burning wood, even inside. Yup, I’m living in a giant campfire known as British Columbia, where we’re smoking out the province next door. Sorry Alberta, but that’s what you get for ramming a pipeline expansion through our backyard. And you want to send more fuel for the fires? (600 wildfires or so burning in our province. Not the firenadoes of California, but still...) At least I’m not in a fire zone... yet
Delay
My computer is in the process of dying. It lived to be 8 years old. How am I supposed to waste my life on the Internet without a computer?

steve_v
Today's complaint: Busybodies who write and distribute corporate feel-good "motivational" garbage, and passive-aggressive note-leavers in general. I'd love to post the latest puerile (attempt at poetry?) example, but it might just bite me in the ass... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, it's everywhere. The fact that some chair-warmer is getting paid to tell people who do the core, physical work of the business, in the most condescending and childish manner possible, to be "Better Every Day", or "Improve Your Aim", makes me want to strangle them with their own gizzards... Or at the very least drag them out of their comfortable office and into the real world.

The Minmus Derp
Get a mac instead. They're better. MOAR RAM! Also, when you play KSP on them, it is automatically 64 bit! Perfect for Planet Packs!
