Navball dv indicator keeps on increasing

Recommended Posts

I've been doing some interplanetary missions but it seems that there's something wrong with the delta v bar next to the navball.  The delta v needed for the maneuver keeps on increasing. Although the patch conics does not seem to change. Anyone kind enough to give some suggestions?

If this happens during a burn, it usually means you're facing the wrong direction.

No, all engines deactivated, no RCS no SAS. Neither am i in the atmosphere.

Here is the log. I'll see what I can do to troubleshoot this. I see some spams from another mod in the console but I don't think it's related.

I'm experiencing the same thing - dV just keeps changing with time (usually growing but sometimes going down). Using nodes is next to impossible when this happens.

I can see you're also running a heavily modded install and many of our mods are the same - my list is here:

  Reveal hidden contents

I'm removing RealChute now, let's see if this still happens

EDIT: It helped! I'll keep playing to see whether it stays permanent.

by the way - you're using Trajectories mod and I read in its thread that it's too inaccurate to use

Actually from my own experience trajectories is not that bad. It does have a larger margin of error than before but since I'm doing powered landing there's nothing too major to be adjusted in situ.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I'll try if removing it helps. Although it's very odd that realchute will cause issues in space.:o

OK, I confirm it's not RealChute - previously the bug was gone after I restarted KSP but after some time (1h, I guess) spent playing it appeared again. Restarting KSP solved the issue again.

One more observation - when I restarted KSP after having the bug the game crashed when exiting to Windows. 2nd run was quite fast (10min, just one ship played) and there was no crash during exit. Dunno if this is related though.

I'm still trying to find the root cause by removing some mods and then playing again. No luck so far.

I have also noticed that whenever the bug appears then maneuver nodes seem to be completely broken - they become completely unreliable and timewarping to them usually overshoots by quite a long time.

The crashes however were caused by steam dll which I deleted and no crashes occur anymore :)

@MaxZhao any progress on your side?

Not much progress, however, a few observations where made.

First, the further in the future the maneuver nodes are, the higher the chances of this happening is.

Second. Reducing the number of conic patches seems to have reduced the rate at which dv indicator increases.

Hope this post will be seen by people more capable of troubleshooting than I am:D

Thanks for the effort too, @Raphaello
