Part of it is to make sure it doesn't go wrong, part of it has to do with not wanting to cover the station in thruster exhaust gasses. tater
Docking now. They are holding near the station right now. They are waiting on a high data arte communication link with ISS.

Also they'll mess about once they get at the one-before-last waypoint, just to make sure that all the manual stuff works as well. (probably ongoing / already done by now.) 16 minutes ago, Gargamel said: how does one pilot the capsule without a joystick? Aren't there like something akin to trim tabs on the bottom of the screen ? EDIT : It is the touchscreen ! This is really techy now... Edited May 31, 2020 by YNM

So the question has been raised. how does one pilot the capsule without a joystick? Does anybody know what they will be doing? Will they be furiously bashing the screens? Intuitively, the easiest way to pilot the craft would be with a stick, so what input style are they using?

Not sure if it is in the 12-hour buffer, but it has been shown in action at a few points in the webcast.
YNM
We need touchscreen support in KSP after this ! Stock RPM as well... Edited May 31, 2020 by YNM

If it is possible to mod the game into multiplayer support, it should also be possible to write a app to control a craft on any device. I believe there's already a mod that lets you transform your smartphone into a touch screen control for KSP. I don't know how far along they got in development, but I know I had some interaction with them when they posted the OP. Don't remember the details though.
