I don't think so. It must be something deliberate which comes prior to the flight, or they would have removed the tethers on the flaps when they were on the lifts. They will probably come back and remove them and then start readying for flight later today.

The total flight time is 1:29, so my guess is the SN8 flight is ~2:30-2:45 local time. WB-57 flight plan alt is 45k feet.

I actually know a RB-57F pilot (retired). He became a surgeon, then retired from that. I talk to him at medical meetings when I go with my wife (if the meeting is someplace worth going to, lol). He attends talks, but knows I'm a plane nut, and we chat over coffee or drinks when he's not doing meeting stuff.
