Ultimate Steve
I hadn't checked that thread for a while, and yikes... This kind of reminds me of the back and forth people used to have with Kerbal7.

Someone almost needs to cut in a scale picture of the Empire State or something for it to begin to make sense

Beccab
Important news: Isaacman booked two more inspiration 4-like flights but going to the highest earth orbit ever plus with spacewalks (!) with a SpaceX-designed EVA suit, and on top of that a flight on a crewed Starship later on The new set of crewed missions is called "Polaris program" and begins later this year (well, we know what Q4 means in aerospace, but even Q1 2023 would be very soon) Edited February 14, 2022 by Beccab

tater
The EVA suit thing is huge if they have a prototype. Current NASA dev on that is insanely expensive.

Scotius
Holy hydrazine!!! Dragon with an airlock... If it works... Can Dragon be used to service Hubble, Kepler and other high-orbit space observatories?

The entire crew suits up, the entire cabin is depressurized.

Can Dragon be used to service Hubble, Kepler and other high-orbit space observatories? It's going higher than hubble, so it definitely could be. Actually, other than to test the EVA suits the mission could be a way for SpaceX to tell NASA that if needed Dragon can do Hubble servicing missions Do note though that it's unclear at the moment if they will have an airlock or if Dragon is to be depressurized. I'm leaning towards the first option personally
Scotius
Aww. So most probably not enough endurance for anything meaningful (which can easily take several hours). Too bad

Yep, which is possible, but kinda complex. There's also the weight problem, they're going pretty high on this mission and fuel may not suffice

RCgothic
There could be an inflatable airlock in place of the Cupola. I lean towards an entire depressurisation, but having the entire crew in EVA suits for the duration of the EVA seems kind of unweildy. They probably painted them for rust protection, I don't think any conclusions about B4's fate can really be drawn from painting the bells. Touche. Also Ship 22 is mostly stacked, or Ship 21.5, or Frankenship, I know it's still S22 but that's not fun.
