Well, the original plan was for 12m diameter. I think one reason it was scaled down to 9m was to fit under a standard warehouse 32’ roof, before they decided to do the initial builds in tents Edited Sunday at 03:47 PM by StrandedonEarth

Yes you could probably made it reusable but don't think they bother unless its an marked for it like some want an group of really huge satellites into orbit. 4 hours ago, StrandedonEarth said: Well, the original plan was for 12m diameter. With steel its easier to build vertically.

Breezy, with a north northwest wind 7 to 12 mph increasing to 13 to 18 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. ^^NWS forecast for Boca Chica Village tomorrow.

darthgently
The Windy app rarely fails me if I select the euro model and it’s typically very good for a 24 hr forecast. It’s calling for 22mph winds with 34mph gusts. I think 19mph is the launch limit at Starbase Thursday looks much better at same time. darthgently
The winds don’t pick up until shortly before the window in the forecast. If they could go earlier that’d be cool, but not sure how that works with the plan and agencies

I popped in 12 minutes too late to watch the launch. Not the live streams. Yes, annoying and they are working on it. What SpaceX does to mitigate is to post videos of segments of mission as segments are completed (launch, meco /sep, booster landing, etc) then after mission post the entire vid. It really highlights the vast amount of dev that has gone into the YouTube player. And even it is quirky and annoying at times. But the seamless integration of streaming and prerecorded video is chef’s kiss for sure Edited Wednesday at 01:42 PM by darthgently
