how to do this? need help

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm developing a part for one of my mods and this part will have a mechanical iris. this iris consists of many separated geometries that are animated and keyframed in time (take a look at the picture bellow), how should i approach the animation for the part config for this to have a single button in UI to open and close all these parts with each other at once?

@Jiraiyah You can compile them into a single animation using the Animation Compiler tool in PartTools.

I'll give it a try and come back if i had a problem, by the way regarding the new part tools, even if I am not doing any font related stuff, do i need to install that free package he mentioned in the op? can i use unity 2017? i just need a part to be exported, no plugins no nothing related to fonts

@JiraiyahYou do not need TMPro, and just to be safe, use Unity 5.4.0p4. Just export the part form Unity, use @Beale's tutorial as a guide if needed, just install the newest PartTools.

Oh, it looked like Blender to me.

I'd recognize that disgustingly aliased grey, dark blue, and light green UI anywhere, I'm pretty sure that translate gizmo is burned into my retinas after staring at it 10+ hours a day for 4+ years. :)
