Not that I am aware of.  There is Crew R&R, which sends Kerbals on vacation after missions.  I can see lots of questions for this, starting with the simplest: Define what crashing into the ground is.  What if the Kerbal is inside a capsule?  Does it provide protection?  How much?  Etc, etc

Would it be difficult to turn a kerbal into a tourist when they pass out, and only restore their status at the "hospital"?

This is already part of the stock game.  If you want them more susceptible, adjust the slider in the settings menu.

"Any landing you can walk away from--" wasn't Kerbal enough!

What gives? Role play? Make a kerbal fall on a structural M-beam like its a gurney, then snapshot/capture/film your scene without moving said kerbal.
Otherwise, you might just set the kerbals' respawn time appropriately to match whatever recovery... and then just kill 'em off improvise. :sealed:

Which slider is that? I dont seem to be able to do that with sandbox

Technically , i prefer a archive where i can see how many bones bill fractured due to jebs piloting skills.
