I am landed and stable on minmus, I either send my pilot on EVA, or just turn off SAS and my lander starts spinning and bouncing off toward the horizon.

The video is too grainy. Maybe send a picture of the lander in the VAB.

But it's probably a bug.

It is possible pitch trim is on. Try cancelling trim with Alt + X

SAS negates trim which is why these things usually wait until after it is turned off before they happen.

I agree with mystifeid -- looks exactly like Alt-W pitch trim.

Indeed. I had one of those 'why is my rover turning left' moments a couple of days ago. It was trim.

@GalbinusCaeli are you sure you didn't have any trim set at the time? On PS4 I believe it's L1/R1 + left stick.

Good point. I didn't notice that it was the console version.

It's definitely pitch trim. You can see the pink "trim indicator" just before SAS is turned off at the beginning.

Yeah, it depends on the preset -- but clearing trim is usually the left bumper + clicking the left stick (L3).

Please note that in the current patch for consoles -- if you decide that you don't like trim and aren't going to use it, you can disable it in the settings so it will never turn on by accident. You can do it on a per-flight basis, too.

I've been playing (PC) since 2014 and don't know what pitch trim is...

Probably why my space planes never work.

Trim is wonderful for spaceplanes, it allows for constant pressure on controls and gradual adjustments instead of "all or nothing" deflections.
