Admins to create sticky threads on info please..

Hi Admins, if at all possible, could you create some Stickies please (closed threads) with KSP 2 info in it as it comes to hand.. Saves on those not reading through threads asking the same questions.

Sure you will do this 'as it comes to hand' however constantly seeing people ask the same questions over and over could be avoided if they can see a thread or go to that thread to find the info they need first hand. As more info is released, just add to it.

KSP 2 threads are starting to get out of hand imho and a lot of repeated info also.

For examp,le, threads like;

Multiplayer info

Modding info (this would also include info around Unity versions as this seems to be asked a bit)

Parts type / Fuel types (not sure about parts, but people seem to ask if KSP1 parts will be in KSP2 gam, any real life models ie Saturn V etc. And plenty of discussions around Fuel types).

Kerbal solar systems and beyond (discussions around planets, images maybe as they come to light, also info on clouds (seems to be asked a bit) and dust)..

Colonies (include info around life support etc)

Operating systems (include specs as they come to hand).

Official threads from SQUAD (and now Star Theory) are always stickied, usually in the announcements sub-forum.   We have been constantly merging threads for the past two days now, as yes, people don't look to see if there is an existing thread on a topic.   If you see a thread that should be merged, please report it, and include a link to the thread it should be merged into.

And since this isn't about the game, but the Forums, moving this thread to Kerbal Network.

We try to be very parsimonious with the sticky status. Those threads can quickly get out of hand and push other useful threads off the first page. And really, quite a few of those questions would be answered if people would just read the original announcement, and it's already stickied. :)

I might alone on this, but I usually ignore stickied threads.  My subconscious blocks them out and a literally don't even see them.  This comes from many, many years on forums where the stickied threads were almost always Rules, Ban threats, or just flat-out outdated that were never unstickied.  Too many and it gets incredibly annoying with how much actual valuable real-estate gets taken up on the first page.  Similar to that one time I fixed a friend's laptop that had so many toolbars (remember those?) installed in the browser that you could only actually use about the bottom 30% of the screen... and she'd just gotten so used to it that she didn't even see the toolbars anymore.

Will do (on the reporting part). Just feel like head butting some..

Read, gosh no.. they see it as a chat room rather than a book. Almost like a reunion of sorts where a new person arrives and asks all the same questions. Others just turn to the last page and hope to find an awesome ending.. :)

I too am guilty of this, as having been on many different forums, I assume I know what's in them, and of course they don't apply to me!  And having written a few posts with the sole intent of them being stickied, it does bug me when I do this and the info I needed was right there in a dang FAQ.

Every few months it seems, one of us mods gets a bug and we peruse the stickies and start pointing out ones that are a little outdated.  So we try to stay up on this.

I am really glad for moderators that can handle the overlapping and over-merging. I remember when I (Accidentally) created two threads for the same topic :(. Remember Expedition Dres?

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one.
