Cloakedwand72
Like would it have the same delta v values etc?
shdwlrd
Since star theory isn't changing much in the Kerbol system, I can't see any major changes for the DV values.
DunaManiac
I'm pretty sure they said specifically they wouldn't be changing the Kerbol system, just a facelift. Drakenred65
I suspect someone will have a outer worlds kind of mod ported over or built, but for the core system I don’t really expect much in the way of changes.

This kind of bums me out, actually. I would love to have a whole new, beginning Kerbolar system to explore as default. Sure, we're getting all new distant star systems, and yes there are always mods, but I don't know how motivating it's going to be shooting for Duna the 47th time as my first KSP 2 playthrough. We've already got the new high-res planets as stock with 1.8. What's going to make landing on the same surfaces feel special this time around? Star theory has confirmed new scatterer and easter eggs to find. Outside of that, needing to progress to the next stage? Your guess is as good as mine. Yes, they've said that it'll have the same bodies with the same orbits and same properties, and even the same starting positions. The rationale is so as not to discombobulate existing players too much with a significantly different environment, given how much new stuff there will be to learn and get used to. 1 hour ago, Chilkoot said: We've already got the new high-res planets as stock with 1.8. They're putting a lot of effort into making them more appealing and different, and not "land in one spot and you've seen it all". I've been playing with the revamped Mun in KSP 1.8. It's pretty and I like it a lot. But the stuff they showed us in the studio was another level entirely.

I honestly don’t know, short of someone finding planet 9 and the Deves sticking in something 10,000 au out though, or adding in more planets is just a basic delta v and timing problem
pandaman
From what i understand, the 'system' is essentially identical. But the changes will be very much in the detail. Generally much prettier and more diverse details. Better, and collidable, surface scatter making it wise to scout for safer, less rocky, landing sites and not just avoid steep slopes as we do now p Different (and more?) Anomalies. Kergarin
I hope they add least add the outer planets to the Kerbol system, this would be a good compromise, as there would be some more things to explore before going interplanetary. Also it would feel more complete. Besides this, a stock option to resize everything would be great. The stock parts are totally overpowered, they feel best and verry realistic in a 4x larger Kerbol system.
