convenient ways to put the visual focus on kerbin

Recommended Posts

when i want to fin tune a manuever around a planet, i set the visual focus on the planet.

then i must go back to looking at my ship around kerbin. and that's not as easy, because kerbin orbit is so cluttered with stuff than i cannot select the planet. wherever i click, the game thinks i am trying to pick a satellite, or a piece of another orbit. sometimes i do remove everything from the map view. sometimes i click at random until i can get back on track, i'm not sure how. is there any better way?

The Tab key will cycle between different focuses. It goes in order from the ship to the maneuver node (if any), then the sun, Moho, Eve, etc. Also, the ` key in the upper left of the keyboard will reset the focus to your ship if you need to.

i have a problem though i dont have the cycle back button, its lost somewhere, since i changed buttons :p .

Probably because the factory-default key for that is 'Backspace', which will also trigger whatever actions you placed in the Abort action group.

I don't think I had my coffee yet when I typed this. Cycle back is not Backspace by default.... it's Shift-Tab. Which still explains why it's one of the first key assignments changed, as trying to cycle back inevitably (Shift!) throttles up your engines if you haven't deactivated or locked them, and the next moment you're wondering why your orbit is changing.

Whats your quickload key?

Dunno hitting backspace hard brings some pleasure/immersion when aborting :P

It was supposed to be a joke - my 'abort' sequence if the engines suddenly start pointing upwards is to quickload or revert.
