Career Maneuvers

I could be entirely wrong on this, but I was under the impression that you only needed to upgrade Mission Control to level 2 in order to perform maneuvers in space.  I started with a new career, and I upgraded the Launch Pad, Astronaut Complex, and Mission Control all to level 2...and yet the trajectory line is grey and I cannot add maneuvers.

Do I also need to upgrade Tracking to level 2?  Is there an R&D module I need to purchase with science points first?  I know I'm forgetting something, but for the life of me I cannot figure out what that is.

@Popestar i have not used career in a few years but from what I recall maneuver nodes are tied to the tracking station in some manner. But again Ive not used career mode since maybe the update or third update after it was implemented so my info may be seriously out of date.

Thats what I thought.  Time to earn enough to update that!

You need Mission Control for maneuver nodes, but you can't use them until you've unlocked Patched Conics from an upgrade to the Tracking Station.

This is why those two are frequently my first two unlocks in a new career. I can get to Minmus in 18 parts and 30 tons, but I don't want to without a maneuver node.
