Stuck on "loading part upgrades 1.12

Recommended Posts

Had this issue as well. Uninstalled mods until it worked (I uninstalled a bunch of suspect ones which had been mentioned here, including X Science!), then reinstalled the mods one by one.  Ended up working fine when I eventually had all my mods reinstalled.

So might have just been something got corrupted which a reinstall fixed..

PS. Logfiles showed NOTHING - the logfile was just stuck on the last valid entry (CodeAssetLoader: Compiling all code assets) with no relevant errors anywhere.

Success! the new patch 1.12.1.3142 now loads with all my mods installed.... Now to play-test which features are "impaired" ;p

The stuck on loading from 1.12 seems to have cleared itself up.

Let me explain.  You looking through the log file isn't the same as someone else looking through the log file.  This single snippet, while probably the main cause of the failure, doesn't have any information about what might have contributed to it.  For that the entire log file is needed.

And don't post the entire log file to the forum.  Find a decent file sharing site (NOT zerobin), and then post a link to the file.  Dropbox, Google Drive are both perfectly fine for this

Yes, and update came out, which fixed a problem loading when one of the DLC wasn't installed.  So it's quite possible this was your (and others) problem

No need to apologize.  but I prefer the Player.Log.

It appears from the log that you DO have both DLC installed, so I doubt the update fixed your problem

I think you need to install ModuleManager.  Did you install all the mods manually?

Or if you have ModuleManager installed, it's not the current version

I installed with CKAN/moved to new KSP install and it appears to be installed and latest version oddly enough... Replaced it with a new manual version and it still gives me the same issues so im not sure.

What do you mean, replaced with a new manual version?  If CKAN installed a good version, why are you overwriting it?

And if you think you have a bad download, please link the file so I can take a look

Well, according to the log file you posted, you didn't have ModuleManager installed.  Maybe it was the wrong log file???

As I said before, you don't have ModuleManager installed, which tells me you haven't installed it using CKAN.

You can get it from here:

I have it installed via ckan tho?

For refrence this is what my modlist looks like (I have another version without JNSQ and it still has the same issue) FCBcwGY.png

Then maybe you are not finding the correct file, or not playing the right version of the game.  ModuleManager, which you show in the picture, is NOT running in the log file you posted, which will cause endless errors.

One thing you can look for is a  folder in the main KSP folder called Logs.   If that's there, zip up the entire contents and post that as well.  That directory contains log files made by ModuleManager and several other mods.

So as much as it's going to hurt, I think you have something left over in the Steam directory which is causing problems.

You need to do the following:

  1. Open Steam and browse the local files
  2. MOVE the entire Kerbal Space Program directory out of the  Steam folder somewhere else
  3. Tell Steam to verify the files, it will reinstall the entire game since it's been moved.
  4. I strongly suggest you copy the updated game somewhere else, and use that new copy for your gaming
  5. Open CKAN, make sure it's pointing to the directory which you are using
  6. Install the mods, 10-12 at a time, and after each group, start the game and make sure it starts
  7. Once you've gotten all the mods installed, copy the save dir from the old directory to the new directory

So I was having the same problem and came here for the solution. I did just install a bunch of mods yesterday and that's when this happened. So, 1 by 1 I deleted and tried to restart. I deleted the module manager and it went back to loading....keep in mind that the module manager was the last mod I uninstalled. There were no more mods after this. Now I am getting a warning that there is no mod manager. I am lost...in space? Any suggestions?

Slight issue with this this is not the steam install persay its more of a copy of an installation running through steams "add a game" thing

Still, something is left over.  Just make a brand new install and proceed from there.  Make sure it works before you add any mods
