A 1963 USAF report describes work on an emergency “space suit.” It’s meant to be something that can be worn as a normal outfit and then zipped up at a moments notice in the event of a pressure drop. This includes a flexible helmet with a flexible “faceplate.” the end result looks like something out of a bad 1970’s pre-Star Wars disco-era sci-fi flick. Note, though that the actual test item is substantially less Giant Polyester Leisure Suit Lapels and more Cheap Plastic Poncho.

Isn't that pretty much what SX designed as their 'launch suits' - just a tad more stylish than was the norm back then?

Reminds me more of the Starliner suits with their soft helmets or rather hoods. SpaceX suit looks like some high tech biker suit.
Now I liked the compression pulley system but not sure if it would work also in freefall especially inside an small ship you only need to worry about flexibility of your fingers and arms.
The suit Flo uses in freefall would work just as well.

In my schoolhood I read a then-future book, where it was written that in future people will just spray a spray on the body, this will polymerize and turn into a sportsuit-like expendable clothes.

So, a spray should be included in this helmet package.

Also knee pads and elbow patches with built-in tourniquets.

The latter are from some old sci-fi, when they were believing that the space is full of meteorites.
A spaceman from damaged spaceship was floating in space, a couple of meteorites hit him, and the spacesuit automatically tied the tourniquets in the suit joints above the amputated limb parts.
As you can't just tie a wound, still a must-have on Mars and Moon.

More practical tourniquets is also an way to deal with leaks, I believe some spacesuit gloves has this function as gloves are the part who is most likely to get an leak, complex design and thinner fabric than rest of suit.
Would an suit with counter pressure only for gloves or arms be practical? For eva suits its the parts who suffer most from the lack of mobility.

Mining and geological studies mean traumas like broken legs.

This means a need in delivering a bleeding crewman to the pressurized habitat.

And that's why the built-in tourniquets will be required.
