Launch 1: Zarya

To be honest, the ascent wasn't the best because I was trying to get the inclination right. (And also, I'm still bad at KSP)

And of course, I forgot to take screen shots of most of the ascent. Well, here it is almost in orbit.

Final orbit. (Not exactly accurate to real life, but the inclination is correct and orbital height isn't extremely far off)

Now I need to build a Space Shuttle to launch Unity.

Sorry I haven't been doing this, it's just that I can't make planes, and so my Space Shuttle still doesn't work.

Okay so now my Space Shuttle mostly works, it's just that the landings are a bit kerbal because some of the Wing panels may break off. Is this allowed for the challenge?

I tried to use a robotic arm for the docking, but KSP robotics are KSP robotics, and the docking caused tons of frustration.

When the modules did dock, this happened. No idea how.

Also, the Arm broke.

Wasn't able to land at the KSC, so landed in some random flat area

Landed hard and rolled down a hill, breaking a few parts. But most of it is fine.

Now I need to launch Zvezda.

The more Kerbal the better!

Roll over on your back for the accent when you start your gravity turn, that should help. The space shuttle wasn't designed to fly like that. Hollywood has lied to you.

I will try to do that, but with this ascent, I had basically no idea how to fly it.

For some reason this shuttle is extremely unstable when flying inverted

Landed too hard, tipped over, and destroyed a wing. At least the crew are fine

I have encountered an issue. The solar arrays, even when retracted, don't fit in the payload bay. I don't know how to redesign them to make them fit.

So, this project has so far been the most frustrating thing I've ever done in any video game, but I think I know how to make it easier.

Landed too hard, broke off the nose cone, bounced back upwards, and broke the vertical stabilizer.

I think I'll take a short break from this.

Totally enjoying this thread and don't feel like you have to rush through it. The hardest part about a long-term mission like this is not getting personally burned-out.

Keep your ship stable, roll out level before landing!
