Governments of Kerbin

If there’s one thing I’ve always been since I was a child, it’s imaginative. And when I learned that Kerbal Space Program had no set lore or background information or anything, it felt like a heyday of creativity. I’ve essentially thought of Kerbin’s governmental structure, and Kerbalkinds history until space travel. Here’s my take on it:

Kerbin is run by a global government, called the United Kerbin Administration. Instead of something like states in the name, it implies Kerbin is United, and they just administrate stuff. Presidents are elected every 10 years (unless impeached), and to make things easier to control, Kerbin is divided into little regions. This sounds like a dystopia, but I promise it’s not.

But I want to know, how do you imagine Kerbin‘s government(s) are like?

I imagine that they are run by a similar system although the name of the government changes dependant on the save. However, in some saves I imagine that there are several governments that have a single united space program. Or for some saves I run an imaginary space race, with multiple agencies.

Whoever has the most hours in space is the leader. No elections or any of that political fluff that humans have. So Jeb is always president! :D

But seriously... Administrative capital is the KSC. It's led by the most experienced (most hours in space) kerbonauts cherry-picked from the astronaut complex. I guess you could label it as a technocracy. Its flag looks like the game's logo. The name? 'Kerbal State' is just fine. I don't really care much about the name. It does have several successful colonies across the Kerbol system. Population hot spots, Kerbin (obviously) and certain islands on Laythe. Population on Kerbin, 12 billion. on Laythe there's a few hundred million.

What would happen with your premise late-game? The first interplanetary colonists would get the most time in space. Would they instantly become your Kerbin's senior leaders in the middle of their space mission, and have to manage running a remote government on top of the demands of their astronaut duties?

Or maybe the most senior astronaut presently on Kerbin serves as president. Let's say that's Jeb. If Jeb goes into space, the next most senior astronaut becomes president. If a 3rd Kerbal then else sets a new record for the most space-time, they wouldn't take over presidential duties until they land back on Kerbin.

P.S. I understand the appeal of sending politicians into space ;)

Here's my one:

Kerbal's Republic Of Kerbin(KPK)

(yeah I got this from People's republic of China)

The KPK is a big nation located near the crater. It is leaded by the Kerbalism Party, who choose the chairman that runs the whole country every 5 years. The chairman now is Chuan Jianguo Kerman.
