I recently discovered HUDReplacer (by @UltraJohn) which allows to change internal images in KSP, including almost all UI elements. So I'm currently creating my own theme, and since some of you may be interested in obtaining it, well... now you can obtain it :)

Installation

  1. Install HUDReplacer if you haven't installed it yet
  2. Download either the .zip or the .tar.gz file (not the source code!), unzip it, you should find a directory named Naztheme.
  3. Copy the directory into GameData. Please do not put it in another directory, as if you do HUDReplacer won't load the images (unless you change the config).
  4. Launch the game and enjoy!

Requires HUDReplacer and ModuleManager.

  • Added statemaps for AG buttons (complete)
  • Modified the altimeter's display to be more pleasing (tell me if you have any ideas for it)

Naztheme 0.3b

  • Made the Navball rounder.
  • Removed the silly purple-and-black water textures I accidentally left by accident.
  • Made dropdown_test a bit more transparent for consistency with PAW background.

    • Tooltips
    • Navball! (except for SAS side icons and maneuver node stuff)

    • Loading widget (bottom right, when changing scenes)
  • Restored the previous state of app_divider_pulldown_head_over (too dark)
  • Added some elements in Tracking Station (unfinished)
  • Added a texture for the background of resources bars (in flight, "resources" tab)
  • Added background and buttons for kbButtons (knowledge base, TS or mapview)


Naztheme 0.2c

  • Added missing elements for subassemblies.
  • Added KAL editor elements (KAL editor is complete now).
  • Completed Kerbnet access window.
  • Tweaked app_divider_pulldown_head_over (the orange bar above PAWs) so that it appears darker and less orange. (if you don't like it, tell me and I'll restore its previous state)


Naztheme 0.2b

  • Added the missing UI elements for the construction thing of the VAB (place, offset, rotate, re-root...). AG not done yet.
  • Fixed ugliness of per-stage Dv display in-flight.


Naztheme 0.2a

  • Added UI elements for:
    • Astronaut Complex (complete)
    • VAB (complete, except for a few buttons and AG)
    • Launchpad/Runway dialog (complete)
    • Staging (complete)


Naztheme 0.1b

  • Fixed folder name in the config file that would cause HUDReplacer trying to get the images from inexistent directories (effectively breaking the mod) on case-sensitive operating systems. Doesn't matter on MS Windows.


Naztheme 0.1a

  • Initial release: 5 folders, 1 cfg file, 1 README, 94 images.

 

Known "issues" and similar stuff

  • The facility icons for the Runway, the Launchpad, the VAB and the SPH in the KSC scene are completely messed up. That's normal. I'll fix it later. (yes, it's still there, and I'm too lazy to fix that apparently)
  • The look of the theme sometimes clashes (in a visual way) with the stock look (especially in flight). I told you, it's mostly a bit incomplete.
  • Not everything is supported (yet).
  • Broken in case-sensitive OS (fixed in 0.1b)
  • DeltaV button is off-centered in flight (fixed in 0.2c)
  • Action Group buttons look weird (will fix statemaps later)
  • Warp to sunrise buttons look weird (fill redo them later)

I have installed HUDReplacer and Naztheme on vanilla ksp (no other mods) on ksp 1.12.5. The Hud dosen't seem to change, what other mods do i have to install?

Note: the KAL editor likely won't be affected when you open it for the first time, if you have the dev edition of HUDReplacer, press 'q'. If you have the regular version, go to any other scene (tracking station, etc.) and then go back to the ship (or the VAB if it's where you were).

although it is not yet available for download. (joke) If you want the file, you can get it here, just put it in the "flight" directory (GameData/Naztheme/Flight). Note that you have to restart KSP if you want the "normal" texture to show up. That said, the texture's 1:1, so it won't be really hard.

Anything that only uses stock textures will work fine (except if it uses some textures that haven't been done yet).

If, however, a mod uses its own textures, then I don't think it will work, I (or we) will have to add a bunch of, or at least some, textures to the mod. But I'll think about it when I'll have put more textures in the stock game (I'm planning to do the flight scene, and finish the AG tab in the VAB).

For which elements? I can add an orange pixel to the grass around the KSC if you want :D

(note: the altimeter is really weird. The numbers are drawn above the UI image, and so I can't get rid of the extra top and bottom bits - I'll have to do with them. I found a quick-and-dirty solution, but let me know if you have a better idea!)
