It looks cool, but from what happened to the Pokémon franchise I will try to stay cautious with this game.

I'd trust this because it's from Nintendo directly and not some contractor/second party.

i just saw the new mario movie, but i havent played a mario game since super mario world. was wondering where cat mario came from.

It's from Super Mario 3D World (available on Switch and Wii U) which was the sequel to Super Mario 3D Land which was a mash-up of the 3D Mario-style games in a 2D Mario-styled format. It's really good
