Building a space ring

Hello everyone. I've manager to create a almost perfect round ring station using research pods and the hab pods, around a fuel rank, connected with beams and wire struts. It very large and it was a real challenge to get it airborne and even more on orbit (i still dont have large the most powerful engines) and it worked for some time but suddenly it all exploded with no apparent reason.

If you can load a save and get it to happen again, hit F3 right afterwards.  A report screen comes up which might have useful clues, such as the first part which failed.

happens with very complex ships. my biggest motherships used to explode from time to time. just save frequently and reload the game when it happens.

oh, and if the ship starts shaking, deactivate SAS and time warp, that removes relative motion of single parts and often can prevent an explosion
