Science Goes Negative After Changing Difficulty [Intended, But Unclear To Player]

Anonymous Bug Reporter

Bug Report

Reported Version: v0.2.0 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes
OS: Windows 10 | CPU: Intel i9 9900K | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Super | RAM32GB

So I changed the science and mission rewards after doing some missions. Both have been set to 50% from the in-game menu. I did another mission and then noticed my science is now -347. I assume this value has been calculated based on the disparity between my prior science rewards being halved and the amount spent on the tech tree up to this point.

Hey! After manipulating the change in the% of research remuneration during the flight, I faced the problem that my points go into the negative, although they should have been added on the contrary.
1. When I landed, I had 110 points.
2. I recover my landship and take all reward.
3. Instead of a plus, I see -1193 points... And here I want to ask why?

The real question is, should the  change in the science rewards be retroactive or not?  Right now, it seems like there is an internal value which is kept for each science experiment completed, and it is multiplied by the science rewards multiplier any time science is needed/used/displayed.  This can be considered a design decision, although I do agree, it can be confusing unless it is properly explained. I would lean towards changing the method to what people are expecting, or at least having an option to apply the rewards multiplier retroactively.
