Eagle 1 landed on Eve. Wilhel is checking out the large boulder close to their landing site. (In case you're wondering, no they're not stranded. An Eagle actually can lift off from Eve on it's own. It just takes MOST of the fuel in the tanks to do so! See the whole mission at this link - A Flight of Eagles - Mission to Eve.)

Eagle 1 is fitted with a Kethane Pod (A kethane mining rig and cracking station in one unit). That's how it's going to get it's fuel to get back to orbit. It's also how the OTHER Eagles in the above mentioned mission are going to get their fuel as well.

However, here's the weird bit: Most of the time when you mine Kethane, you get a little cloud of mist hanging around just above the drilling units. A "Kethane Bloom" if you will.

Not on Eve. On Eve, apparently the Kethane is under a lot more pressure than it is anywhere else in the system. And it GEYSERS up several hundred feet while mining!

How about that?

I suppose it makes sense with Eve's higher gravity and thick atmospheric pressure.

EDIT:

It flipped slightly, so I tried a recovery mission. I had to "Swing" the rover to get it upright, almost broke into pieces, being fragile. But, it made it, despite crushing a kerbal in the process.
