umbra humanus
Who was your first kerbal in orbit? Was it Jeb, Bob, Bill, Val, or another one. Tell me who it was below.
GluttonyReaper
It was almost certainly Jeb, Bob and Bill for me in the old Mk1-2 pod... given Val didn't exist yet. I make sure to give her the honour of being the first solo orbiter in most of my saves now to make up for it

Royale37
Jeb, I don't think he survived. Edited Saturday at 02:43 PM by Royale37
Ultimate Steve
It's a bit sad to think, but that save file was so long ago that I honestly don't remember. It was probably Jeb, as it would have been a 1 person craft in a time before the astronaut complex allowed you to pick your crew, and in an era where I didn't have the heart to let Kerbals stay dead (I would restart every failed flight). I remember the vague outline of the craft. I don't remember the top stage (possibly LV-909 upper stage), but the core stage was probably an orange tank with a mainsail engine, with three hammer SRBs. It would have been something in the "Toddler steps" series.

If you were like me, you didn't know how to pick crew and it would have automatically been Jeb
Vanamonde
Jeb, Bill, and Bob, because at the time the 3-kerb capsule was the only capsule.
Bej Kerman
I started with the 0.18.2 demo, and it will almost have certainly been Jeb.

umbra humanus
Let us take a moment to praise Scott Manley for his tutorials. I would never have gotten to orbit without them.

You could cheese it by launching pods with the first few crew in the list to the runway and then launching with the crewman in the next position on the list. And I was on an old laptop wholly unsuited for playing ksp at the time, so having multiple craft like that was a non starter.
umbra humanus
I think that most people just had Jeb either because it was an early version, where you could not pick your kerbals, or because Jeb is Jeb
