Kimera Industries
Today, in celebration of my birthday, I briefly recreated the Venera 13 mission. March 1 is the anniversary of both the Venera 3 and 13 landings, which is pretty cool. Edited March 1 by Kimera Industries New page, new year of life! N_Danger
A sample return mission to Minmus was launched. Spoiler Booster separation Second stage start up Fairing separation The transfer stage finishes the orbital insertion. Injection burn to Minmus Spoiler I deorbited with a low decent rate, aiming for the Basins. And well the rotation of Minmus made things a bit dicey on approach to the LZ That's a tall hill Oh boy. That's not tall. I'm low. Landing burn. And safely on the surface. Liftoff of the return vehicle Spoiler Arrival at Kerbin Re-entry And a good chute and then a successful landing rounds out the mission. Tormy45
Early in my Career save I had left three Kerbonauts on Eve but due to a physics bug my base was in danger from the Kraken at any time I loaded the base. Therefore I mounted a rescue operation to Eve to bring back my three little green fellows. I build an Eve lander capable of returning 9 kerbals back to Eve orbit, the aptly named "Escape Artist". Duke MelTdoWn
I continued with my career game, here are the pictures for day 73 - 74. 'Samaritan' returned from Midlands to 'MunStation I'. This was done so Alice can get a seat on the next flight to Minmus. Jesfal and Berlorf then left 'MunStation I' on 'Reginn' for a rover repair contract. The two landed in lowlands and attached a solar panel to the rover, which was then driven under its own power to contract site. They will stay longer to mine 2100 ore. 'Draupnir II' returned to 'MunStation II'. I pushed the envelope on this flight, landing site was at 45° latitude and 7 Kerbals were on board. I docked at the station with 19 m/s left. This might sound precarious, but I could have converted some of the 27 tons of ore on board if need be. The Sun is currently eclipsed by Kerbin and the Station might run out of power eventually. Eclipse 32
i've been browsing the history of this thread, i somehow got to the point where @Triop was going to space. in SSTOs. i was unaware that he had the ability to do that.
Kimera Industries
I started building the Eve SSTO from scratch again. The real bottleneck in the design so far has been that it needs to be able to hide behind the inflatable heat shield, because anything peeking out, even the heat-resistant space shuttle wings, will go ka-poof. Going ka-poof is not an option. Gene Kranz said that. I'm paraphrasing.
Eclipse 32
has anyone noticed that the kerbs in the home screen of the game when you turn it on are in a retrograde orbit??

Hold up, wait a minute, they ARE! How did I never notice this? Eve SSTO has been progressing very slowly. I need more thrust, and haven't been able to test the new design (now with: a Vector!). I had one breakthrough, which is to have the ISRU equipment removable and land it fully fueled instead (this should gain me ~500 m/s of dv, which will be crucial in getting those last dozen km for the apoapsis), and one setback, in that I need to design it to be able to remove the ISRU equipment. Just now, I thought of an idea which may help me with that.

JoolRools
I just finished the test drive for the “tour module” on my first Jool 5 ship, now all that’s left to do is launch it. Before hand, I had made sure all of the landers were capable of landing and taking off again, so I just had to find a way to deliver all of them into orbit, which was what the tour module successfully did. FTLparachute
Today I finally decided to stop putting off Vall Biome hopping. Currently have 5/9 done, and total science for the whole Jool V is at about 125,000. Then I got bored and built this atrocity. A plane with the Thoroughbred as the fuselage and engine. Surprisingly, it made it to the peninsula east of the KSC, and Leavin only blacked out a couple of times in doing so. Also, when I was re-entering the ESUs to check the science, Firefly broke in the best way possible. Teleporting to a 50km orbit was 100% the right choice. (this is at max camera distance btw, if i could have gone further I could have made the plasma bigger than Kerbin)

I can get to kerbin orbit fine. I line up the periapsis with the moon by using the node. However, when I go to speed up to that node, I just fly off into space and dont actually follow the node

Watch the above, and you will soon find yourself heading towards the Mun.

I should have thought of just looking for a tutorial vid, but my day job instincts kicked in and I jumped into putting something together myself. Glad I didn't have to.
