kelmv
I managed to dock two probes together for the first time ever. It only took roughly a month to get the orbits close enough, but it is a first.Next up; Jool, because now I can build a better space station on orbit. psistorm
Last night I did some more science missions, and took another crack at eve. I actually managed orbit by using aerocapture to save fuel, and then let it decay to see what happened if I came in for a landing. Unfortunately, you quickly learn to balance drag on your probes when wanting to put one on eve, because otherwise you WILL be turned nose down and no force in the world can turn you around again. Okay, maybe it also was a lack of pod torque, but both the probe designs I put up there were very quick to turn nose down. The first one blew up because no chutes, the second one landed on its antenna at 2.8m/s and came to rest on its side completely undamaged. So I guess mission success. I did get a bunch of data from it too, so that's good Later on I took an atmospheric analysis plane for a spin on kerbin, but despite the hefty data size, I only got 14 science out of a run despite it saying it had a value of 140. Anyone else got that problem? Is that going to be a better payout for places like duna?
capi3101
I had maybe three hours over the whole weekend to play. Decided to do a few R&D missions for the Constellation Challenge - mostly involved blowing crap up. Other than that, not much got accomplished. KerbMav
Landed a probe each on Mun and Minmus to take seismic readings (and other stuff) from two locations each. (hop-hop)Launched a somewhat heavy Mun lander with lots of science equipment. Munar insertion stage was almost full still, as Munar transit stage had 1/3 to much fuel. (*takesnote*) Therefore establised a polar orbit first to get some EVA above X reports - but Kerbsor, does Mun rotate slow ...
Oderus
I sent 3 Kerbals to Jool, visited Gilli and then accidentally clicked 'revert mission' and lost all my science. Now I must do it all over again..
El_Kikko
Landed on Ike and Duna with the same science probe. I'll send some probe friends for you tomorrow, little guy.
Trumps
I sent three missions one after the other to minimus to setup the mining base.Exactor and Refinery are just reaching minimus now only 10mins apart. So some nice quick retrograde and establish orbiting to do and then the bas module with Crew Hab arrives about an hour later. Was so much fun sending them all up and watching them all fly out there one after the other. hobbsyoyo
I've been slowly putting together a science base on Laythe. All of the base modules will have wheels and be capable of driving around to rendevouz with each other. The reusable SSTO landers, however, will be stationary on the surface. I'm not the greatest at precisions landings on Laythe, so in order for my Kerbal scientists to go from the landers to the base and vice versa, they need some sort of transportation.Que the multi-rover deployment system:The second picture is a development version with smaller wheels than the production model and also missing headlights. The delivery platform can put 4, 4-kerbal rovers on the surface and with sturdy girder legs is pretty tough. It has 8 chutes as well as retro-burn capability of nearly 1000m/s. The rovers themselves are RTG powered and thus have infinite range. Stability is good and the top speed is a little over 10m/s. Unfortunately, the landing legs (which can prevent most flips) cannot right the vessel on the occasions that it actually does flip over. So I will just have to drive carefully. GeneralMDBK
Just sent a couple probes out, one to Eve which impacted but transmitted science the entire way down, and the other one went to Duna which thankfully ended up with a stable orbit, and now i finally have nuclear engines unlocked, I'm so eager to move forward with manned missions to the other planets. brienne
Below, in Career mode:-Probes to Duna, Ike and Eve.-Kerbal mission to Duna, and back (2 vessels: 1 main and 1 remote one with lander, docking, EVA transfer, landing, re docking, back home after rescue)-Bonus: fuel rescue mission^^I pilot by myself, with Redux and Protractor.Remotech and Isa are outdated.Kethane only work in sandbox.:/ I may use fixes written here and there.Next step: Jool system and permanent base (if I get Kethane mod).Javascript is disabled. Tw1
I sent Watsan Kerman to the pole, training for his eventual posting to Eve. Science from probes shows Eve rotates only once a day, so he's got to get used to not seeing sunrise and sunset every few hours.Kilometers away from other kerbals, he couldn't be happier. I also started making and SSTO lifter thing for my Dashwing Starfighter. Less wasteful than using a rocket each time. Does not make orbit. Yet. Also, landing leaves a little to be desired.Oh, and I must add this. These kerbals.. they're cloners, and damn good ones.Bob, Bob Bob, Bob everywhere! Superfluous J
Brought down a damaged space plane on one engine.Good job! And good job Erbert! That smug smile at the end says it all. Well not ALL. The terrified screams earlier say it ALL. But that smug smile tells me Jeb has some competition.
kahlzun
i checked if you can land on minmus using ions. yes, you can.
psistorm
I decided to finally rescue jeb from the mun, and build a new science lander. Well, turns out I miscalculated the fuel use, so while I have fuel to spare, it's not enough for an orbital trajectory, so both jeb AND bill are now on the mun for a while. Well, time to build a bigger, better lander
capi3101
Did my Münar lander flight tests in Mün orbit for the Constellation Challenge - next up is an actual landing.Began making my cruddy low-tech substitutes for the Zenith series; got subs made for the Zenith II and III. Still working on the others. I'm still going to have to figure out how my workarounds will affect the boosters as a whole - they will be inferior, but usable. Odo
Rescued jeb from the mun with an apollo style lunar lander. It landed, picked jeb up, docked at a command module, and brought him home
GeneralMDBK
Sent my manned mission to Duna for some science which included some amusing messages in the report, swung over to Ike and landed for a couple days and then made my way homeward. Jeb was able to land safely on Kerbin without having to put down the snacks.
Major "zubb" Tom
I developed a mineing base that will launch rockets if you keep the fuel shipments coming.I also tested my jet powerd cruise missle against my neighbor's base.We are hot seating and he hogs all the turns, but he was not here then so...Oh right it was a direct hit but the target still stood. The game lags so hard because of our bases, they aren't even large:(
FlamedSteak
I launched a mission to Minmus, and then screwed up with the time acceleration keys and completely missed the intercept. Only then realising that I hadn't quick saved at all.
ManaaniWanderer
Made my first successful aircraft, 15 parts and I made it about a third of the way around the world before failing my landing in the desert west of KSC.Edit:All prior planes have ended up as SSTO(single stage to ocean)
