For most of my landing attempts, I use the Maxo girders in a 8-symmetry thing to help slow down the ship to parachute speeds. For some reason, I decided it would be a good idea to make them double as solid fuel rocket holders. Well, that turned out to be a bit of a bad idea, as it turned out. At 28000 meters, I decided to decouple the rockets and start my 2nd stage ignition. But I attached the decouplers to the ship, not the tips of the girders. As I prematurely jettisoned the rockets, they flew towards poor Rodbart's capsule instead of falling outwards. Well, on the bright side, I'm sure a little bit of him made it into space... We learned something, didn't we.

I've been trying to build a Minmus worthy Single stage spaceplane. I know that it's not big deal, but I never made one before so I had to start from scratch. I started out as small as I could. If that size didn't work out, I would increase the fuel amount. After each iteration, I flew the plane into orbit to check its remaining delta V. If it wasn't enough, I would build a bigger plane. However... after 20 iterations (and a plane weighing in almost 25tonnes) I still didn't have enough delta V for a return mission to the green moon... after two days of tweaking I finally found what I was doing wrong:

I didn't use fuel lines to transport the fuel from the secondary stacks to the main stack with a nuclear engine. I did this deliberately because fuel lines are draggy and I know the RAPIER uses the fuel from every stack... However I forgot that nuclear engines don't use this kind of fuel transportation magic. So my KER delta- v readings were (falsely) low. XD

So I basically made a plane with 3000+ m/s delta v in orbit without even knowing it had any delta v left after reaching orbit. After face palming myself, I transported the fuel to the main stack and finished my first SSTMinmus return mission. It felt great to achieve my first spaceplane mission to a moon. I did feel pretty silly though haha. I just wanted to share this with you guys. :)

I still have to work on my re-entry though... I lost some components due to heat problems... I think I need some air brakes or something :)

I did use some naughty part clipping to get the nuclear engine in the main fuel stack

Missions I have forgotten to attach an antenna to, updated edition:

1) Duna explorer, unmanned probe

2) Ike Explorer, unmanned probe

3) Eve lander, land edition, unmanned probe

4) Eve lander, sea edition, unmanned probe

5) Duna I - crewed Duna transfer mission

6) Dunalab I - MPL to rendezvous with the above, to give the crew something to do while waiting for a return window

That's right, I've managed to send seven Kerbonauts to Duna on a three year mission with a Mobile Processing Lab and no antenna. And it's the SIXTH mission I forgot to add an antenna to.

When I first started KSP I had a contract to flyby the Mun. The last stage was a probe core with an over-sized fuel tank. I had two flat solar panels on the side of the core. As I approached the mun I realized I was going to hit it. Sadly the tank was casting a shadow over the solar panels and the batteries were dead. It was close to a full mun and the sun was behind the craft. It took me a few minutes to realize that my control problem was a dead battery. I rode it all the way into the ground hoping that the sun would hit one of the panels and I would save it. The Mark II flyby probe had more solar panels in better locations and a smaller fuel tank.

It totally was a bug. In my kOS script. It shut down couple seconds too early due to a math error and the landing was way too hard.

Fun thing - when I switched to KSC and then back to the crash site, the framerate disappeared completely. Apparently, broken off drills glitch the game out, had to clear them from the tracking station.

GAH, I GIVE UP.

My rocket is good, not perfect but good enough to send into orbit medium sized interplanetar nuclear tug with whatever already attached to it.

But somehow it stopped working, I couldn't send like anything to space cause my rocket started to tilt, roll, basically lose control literally every single try. Gotta go to bed, I can't take it anymore today.

Once, I was almost to kerbin, returning from minmus with 8 kerbals aboard (I was brining them back, because it's cheaper than hiring new ones.) when I accidentally timewarped and hit kerbin REALLY hard.

I'd suggest getting Better Time Warp so that doesn't happen again.

On the bright side, you did bring them home, they've just undergone a minor phase change.

Flew a basic orbiter today in 0.90, With Jeb obviosly.

On re-entry after deploying chute, I quicksaved and did EV A at 200m/s, kerbal flies off as expected. Quickload. AH! CRAP! My parachute is gone! (It was semi deployed at point of save) Flip rocket up-side down! Bail out! Stay upside down Jeb, you get a medal if you survive this. *Jebediah Kerman falls into the sea and dies* Now, the capsule should fall on his corpse. Where is it? Ah there! Funny, it looks yellow and white. *Zooms in* WHAT?!?! THE PARACHUTE DEPLOYED?! SO IT WAS THERE ALL ALONG? *Quickloads* Does perfect parachute landing into the sea.

the accident I had was with a replica of the ¿Atlantis shuttle?

the issue is that never took off, and ended badly in the sea ...

uJtAO9Q.png

this is what was left.

and the other accident I had was with Munar lander, I dont have a photo but it was like this:

i had a MK1 capsule with a parachute and landing feet, below was the ascent engine, on the sides of the ascent stage tank was the descent engines ,below the ascent stage was the de-orbiting engine, when the De-orbiting engine separated, instead of separating itself.the capsule separated from the entire lander, I was like ..., and the capsule had the landing legs to slow down, so Jebediah got out of the capsule to try to save himself, survived but with slight injuries. ..

it was all a mistake on the Staging sequence ...

Forgot to take a screenshot, but I landed a rover on the Mun using a brand new lander system that has an angled platform for the rover to rest on and drive off of when it decouples. Unfortunately, after landing in the completely wrong place, it immediately did a somersault and got stuck upside down, immobile. I suppose I really should put reaction wheels, RCS, or something on there next time. At least the landing platform itself performed admirably!
