Also why does it seem that nearly all US internet providers provide overpriced crappy internet. It's not like were on a lake in the middle of nowhere

A new PC hasn't made much of a difference to download, but upload is considerably higher and I can actually download files at 10 MB/s without it committing seppuku.

Usually my top downloading speed is not past 120 kbps and uploading is no more than 20 kbps in real conditions.

Wireless internet in uni accommodation. Supposed to be 100Mb download, no upload speed mentioned (with good reason, it seems).
