I've been kind of busy this week but I managed to get everything working in-game. It turns out I had to scale down everything to match the Kerbals size, otherwise it would look weird on the inside. This is just the framework of what will eventually be a fleshed out IVA.

I apologize for being silent for the past week and a bit, but it was for a good and rather frustrating reason. For some reason as I was progressing the nacelle's animation started lagging out the game and making it unplayable. I tried almost everything but nothing worked. I ended up resorting to box colliders. They aren't the most accurate but I can't think of any real reason why the nacelles would need to be. I've also just had normal "life" stuff to deal with like homework and family. Anyways, I've put together an album of the current status. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I modeled the Titan II, except with the inaccurate engine shown in First Contact. The only things left to do are a bit more detail all around, the internal, and sounds (but those are easy).

But enough with that, here 'She' is:

I'm back from holidays, projects, and studying (not really)! I've managed to redo the chairs, do some config work, and do some textures. Originally I had done some IVA props but when I last tried to open the Unity scene it came blank and corrupted itself. It was probably for the better, as the rocket pieces were all relying on different versions of the model. I didn't want to redo everything in Unity if I just made a simple change, so I'd delete the outdated part and replace it with the new one, but the other parts would still be using the older model, and then it continues until I'm not sure what's new and what's old. Basically at some point I needed to just redo everything.

Anyways, here's the IVA in it's current state. The side has been cut away for visibility. Only the chairs and panels have been properly textured. You may also notice that I got rid of the ugly effect on the windows edges (see above).

More stuff. Past tomorrow(29th) I should be able to work on this a lot more, but in the meantime I've worked on the Internal Props. Here's the current progress:

The throttle on the "screen" lines up with the green circle when at full. I also made the window clickable to get a better view of the outsides/controls. Some of that may change though.

Blast from the past, your still working on it!

Of course. I just had school projects and exams to do. Luckily that's all behind me now.

Will the Phoenix have warp drive?

I'll release a KSPI compatible version, so yes.

Hey, have you considered using RasterPropMonitors for your IVAs? I think you could get great results with it.

I've been thinking of using it. I'll probably include an optional config for it.

Basically all I have left to do now is the final textures in the Internal. Then I can look at the Interstellar warp drive and RPM. I also plan to create a docking port in place of the parachute. After this project I'll Redo the Galaxy Class, as the quality on that is looking rather bad compared to more recent ships. Past that I plan to create the TOS shuttle to be used with the original Enterprise.

Here's a neat & tidy list:

  1. Finish Phoenix internal textures
  2. Create optional Phoenix cfgs + parts
  3. Redo Enterprise D
  4. Create TOS shuttle + shuttle bay

Last night I started looking at the Cockpit more closely, and I found out there was actually a window near the back.

I've added that, and also gotten rid of the panels on the right side and replaced them with the Airlock. The textures are pretty much done. I'm not exactly sure what else to do on the actual model. I realize I'm horrible at making the chairs fit. I might try and fix that, but it's kind of hard. I'll probably try and do the nose-docking port animation after that. Here's what it looks like now:

Is there a reason why you made the cockpit so short compared to this]?

That doesn't really help much, but I think I know what you're talking about. Originally I wasn't thinking of the internal, and I cut off where it should've been to make the decoupler part. I can probably fix that pretty easily. I'll just fuse the decoupler with the cockpit and extend the Internal back a bit.

Hey GoalPost head! - Cat

Lol. This is awesome. You have said that you want to give the phoenix FTL, but do the other ships, like the full scale enterprise have FTL?

Also, why don't you just downsize the internal model? Then the kerbals would fit in the seats with a little bit of tweaking.

(You have to agree with Lister though, Rimmer is such a Smeg Head, or as Kryten would say, Smeeeeeeeg Heeeed.)

You know, there's an old cat saying. But you don't wanna hear it right now.

I can't just resize it because then the windows wouldn't match up with the outside, and I'm not resizing that either, as Unity doesn't like that. the way I'm going to do it will be the easiest. For the FTL, nothing so far has it, but it should simply be copy+paste once I figure it out.

I managed to extend the interior a bit by merging the decoupler with the cockpit. I wasn't really sure what to do other than move stuff back a bit, so that's what I did. Next the chairs need to be fixed. Would people rather have the decoupler module in the cockpit or the hull?
