I hyperedit for testing, but im using Extraplanetary Launchpads to build, the parts aren't free so you do need to launch supply craft, im just not going to try launching a giant brick with FAR running:P I have a hard enough time with SSTO's and normal rockets.....

UbioZur thank you so much for this awesome mod :)

I welded parts of my ring station together ... from around 1600 to 280 parts ;)

I'm playing in 0.23 and weldet the parts in 0.22.

Only Problem were the attach nodes, because they weren't set right. I startet with a fuel tank and copied its attachment points in my weldet craft and now it fits. :D

Here are a few pictures of the station. ;)

If we zoom in on that ship, will we see a PAN-AM logo? ;)

So, after adding this mod to gamedata, "wield it" button shoudl appear in VAB?

Unfortunetly i dont see it.

I even removed part catalog because it was said it is incompatibile.

Might have something to do with the fact it is not updated for 0.23 yet..

So I ran across this mod and wanted to put it to good use, but also got the problem that it did not work in .23

If someone should be interested in this DLL, here's a download-link:

http://www.load.to/ntHfkQ8jQu/weldingtool.zip

Thanks for building that DLL but WHY put it on such a site? It's horrible and I can get a file with an installer that tries to exploit the user. The other one, 5kb in size, will not open at all, both W7 and 7zip say it's not a .zip file. In the future, please use dropbox or something. In the mean time, I'll wait for the real one.

That link doesn't provide me with what I need. Maybe it's because of Firefox.

Anyway, did some stuff in 0.22 No Mods and pt5 last night and fused together some parts. The nodes are there, it just won't attach to where it came from. It seems to snap to where it belongs but the thing stays translucent red.

Ah, ok. it won't let you download unless you download the item in their pop-up first. It does not make you run it though, so I downloaded it and immediately deleted.

get yourself the "Addblock Edge " addon for FF . You wont see anything else then the correct download button on the site :)

I think it was the correct button as it was the only one I clicked, and was the one pictured earlier, but it triggered two actions: the popup and the download - the main page said 'preparing download' or something like that until I acted as described above.

This happens whenever there are more than a few nodes in the welded part. I've been working around it by manually removing the unneeded nodes in the welded part.cfg file. Go back a few pages for more details.

Interesting. A few years ago at least, that site was pretty decent (offered good download speeds, little to no waiting time and did not bother you with anything, at least as long as you had an adblocker installed), so that's why i chost it. But maybe it changed over time.

Considering that I do not have a dropbox and cannot think of any decent hoster that wouldn't bother you to much, I just put it here: www.wh2.tu-dresden.de/~locutus/UbioWeldingLtd.zip -- should have thought of that one in the first place, actually!

Just a check-in / bump - Is any work being done on this end to resolve the conflict between this mod and RCSBuildAid? I and several others mentioned it several weeks ago, but it seems to have been brushed under the rug. To refresh your memory, several of us who had both mods installed were unable to name a craft prior to saving, due to the disappearance of the text field at the top of the screen. Remove one of the mods and the problem goes away. In a nutshell. And I just tried again with the latest versions of both mods, same problem.

I really find myself in need of the ability to weld parts, both to reduce part count and to increase structural strength and rigidity, but I need RCSBuildAid even more, so if it's a choice between one or the other like it is now... well, you get the point.

Oh yes, just remembered, along with all of the above, the 'Weld It' button isn't visible either. :)

Hey I'm kind of new to ksp and I did what it says, downloaded and unzipped the file to ksp directory. But it won't show me the button in the game :( please help!

Some mods aren't working either. For example KSP interstellar it only loads like 2-3 parts out of the entire thing..

Any help is appreciated!

Check if the Mods you are trying to get to work are actually compiled for the KSP-version you are running (i.e. mods that weren't compiled for 0.23 are not guaranteed to actually work with 0.23). Check the Threads regarding the mods you want to get to work to see if there is a version that is compiled for 0.23 (there is this unofficial compilation of the welding tool for example).

Alternatively, if you have the sourcecode for the Mod you are trying to get to work, you could always try to compile it with the 0.23-KSP-files, but that is not guaranteed to work without maybe having to modify the sourcecode of that mods a little bit to adjust it to the changes in the newest version!

Sorry for the late reply, but the way I do it is to radially attach the welded part to the actual part i want to snap it to. Then with the select root mod, make the welded part the root then you can click and drag the nonwelded part and snap it into place into the welded part. Works about 99% of the time.

That's because you're trying to use a dll compiled for 0.22 in 0.23. With that said, it's working fine for me with RCSBuildAid with the dll Locu posted.

Hey guys. I saw that somebody else might be having this issue as well. I downloaded the dll Locu posted and the 'Weld it' button dosent show. I put the file in the Plugin folder as well as in the Gamedata folder. I only have like 4 full mods (Procedural Fairings, TacFuel Balancer and Mechjeb 1.9 and 2.1) and only the cockpits from B9. could any of this be affecting the mod.

edit. Forget it. Just figured it out. Had to download the official version of this mod and just replace the dll that locu posted. I'm so stupid.

So, I've been playing with locu's dll in 0.23 with KW Rocketry. I've discovered a few things.

If your nodes don't work, they may just be pointed the wrong direction in the .cfg. Ya just have to edit the direction they face. Check this post for help on how angles work. This has helped fix issues where it won't "lock in" at all or "locks" but remains transparent.

Scale on KW Rocketry stuff is often off. Here's a few scale values that've worked for me.

KW_Elec_SmallRadBatL: scale = 1.25,1.25,1.25

KW_Fuel_1mL1: scale = 1.25,1.25,1.25

KW_Fuel_RCS: scale = 0.833,0.833,0.833

KW_Struct_FuelAdapter21: scale = 1.25,1.25,1.25

KW_Struct_FlatAdapter21: scale = 0.85,0.85,0.85

KW_Control_2mRadialSAS: scale = 1.25,1.25,1.25

edit: adjusting kw_fuel_rcs scale
