this may or may not have been suggested all ready but an app for android or IOS for building rockets on the go. like what if you came up with an idea for a rocket at work or something and you don't have ksp on you to build it. you might forget it by the time you get back home.

Problem is not only memory requirements on mobile devices, but the fact that it'd have to be horribly limited to stock parts.

It seems silly to make a whole app for something that small. Why not just write a note on a piece of paper?

I don't think this is a silly idea. Craft files are text, and there really isn't anything going on in the VAB as far as physics, so processing power doesn't seem like it should be that big of a hurdle.

I think a watered down VAB/SPH mobile app is doable. Now the question becomes mods. Most of us use or have used mod parts so how do we load those?

The parts alone would require 400MB of RAM to load. That's a LOT of RAM usage for a mobile device, and that's not even counting the building scene, the logic, etc.

World of tanks can load just fine!

Its a VAB no stats just parts and nodes!

I would love an app like this. Imagine....start building on the go then when im home, fire up the laptop, transfer from phone/tablet to KSP and continue....Heaven

Yup, the idea was around in the past, and an extra problem is that the current rocket builder engine is like 60% of the base game. Even though it *looks* physicsless, it isn't really; you can use 'object thrower' in VAB and make rocket parts tumble; it overrides physics engine but the engine is active. The only parts of the game that are not involved are orbital mechanics and planets. Porting this to mobile would necessitate either rewriting the whole thing practically from scratch, or a download more than half the size of full KSP.
