[1.2] Real Solar System v12.0 Dec 8

I was considering adding some dwarf planets, but I was going for the major bodies first - however, it's more likely that I'd go for Ceres first, due to available images more than anything else.

Hi.

I can't get the dev version to work.

I took the Kopernicus from here: https://github.com/ThomasKerman/Kopernicus/tree/development/Distribution

I took the RSS from here: https://github.com/KSP-RO/RealSolarSystem

And installed 4k textures correctly....

except only the stock system appears. Am I missing something?

Do you have ModuleManager 2.6.3 in your GameData folder? Only other folders there for testing should be Kopernicus, RealSolarSystem and RSSTextures. The latter should contain the contents of 2048 (or higher).

I'll post a screenshot of the GameData I have shortly.

PS: When I download RealSolarSystsem from RO-RSS, I have to get the entire Master file which contains Source and other stuff. Are they needed?

You only want to copy the contents of Distribution/GameData into your GameData folder - don't copy anything else from Kopernicus or RSS. (RSS-Textures you have to make up manually at the moment).

Ah, that might be the problem. I'll try that.

Has anyone been able to make RSS-dev actually work?

Tested with a completely new install, high graphics, full res game, GameData contains only RealSolarSystem and Rss-Textures (4k).

I can confirm that the dev build just does not work right now. The game even runs at 1.3Gb in the RAM: the RSS textures weren't even loaded.

Experimentation and testing

It seems that contrary to the expert opinion of the posts above me, you actually need a separate Kopernicus folder next to 'RealSolarSystem' and 'RSS-Textures'.

However, I might be missing something else, because I currently get this while trying to launch a ship:

Uh, yeah, you need Kopernicus. Download from this repo

https://github.com/ThomasKerman/Kopernicus/tree/development

and grab Distribution/GameData/Kopernicus and put that folder in your GameData folder.

Not super sure even what that pic's issue is, let alone what's causing it...

Apparently, adding KSC Switcher did nothing.

Problem pictured above persists, sometimes it doesn't show KSC.

Here's a big, fat output_log for you to mull over: https://www./?l9ddfk24xxgbqdg

The Alt+F2 debug window continuously spammed the following message:

(Filename: C:/buildslave/unity/build/artifacts/StandalonePlayerGenerated/UnityEngineDebug.cpp Line: 56)

OD: ERROR: bodies list does not contain Mercury and homeworldBody is the same!

And there is also hydrocarbom lakes on Titan :P

Edit :

Also Titan's atmosphere color is not orange-red. It is blue. People see Titan as a Orange-Red because Titan's soil has that color, not atmosphere ;

Hey, Nathan! Awesome work on this! I love KSP RSS, especially when I play with RO! Then it's like a much more gamey version of Orbiter! Only one thing: when is this going to be 1.0 compatible?

I made RSS work.

I put a folder called 'Source' next to GameData, and used 2k textures instead of 4k.

Is there only earth and moon or entire solar system?
