Eve attempts

Curious how many people have succeeded or even just attempted an Eve ascent stock. I am planning a mission as I type this poll

Someday I'll get to this, but for now I haven't even landed anything on Eve. I seem to have been ignoring it for some unknown reason.

Similar situation for me. I once began building an Eve ascent vehicle, but it was quite laggy and I devoted my time to other pursuits.

I myself am not gonna try a proper Eve Ascent vehicle until we get proper Multicore support, As I am not Manley enough to make micro craft.

I built an Eve ascent vehicle and sent it to Eve. It was being refueled and was almost ready to go, then an update came out and I abandoned it.

Attempted many times, never succeeded.

I did come close once... I managed to get out of the atmosphere but I didn't have enough fuel left to get into a stable orbit so went crashing back down.

I attempted an Eve accent, but I ended up sounding Jamaican. As for my ships, they didn't fare much better.

I succeeded (link in my sig), but that lander will not currently work because the new improved landing legs collapse under its weight.

For a short while I had a project which attempted an Eve ascent by using a rocket powered remote-aircraft to lift another rocket into the upper atmosphere, from where I would attempt to reach orbit. I don't know whether that's more or less efficient than just firing a rocket from the ground, either way the prototypes were never even nearly successful and I abandoned the project. Might revisit it one day.

i landed several times on it.

Now i want to return home.

first, my special aero-break mission. it took some time but i saved much fuel. (there are more pictures but 5 are enough)

now i want to start with that small lander

Successfully did a stock accent from around 5,4XX altitude. Jeb, literally had to bail out and circularize his orbit with his EVA thrusters.

As there are no civilizations currently on Eve, we will never know the exact pronunciations, but I think I may have nailed the dialect in my attempts to speak it.

Edit: And yes, I spoke it totally stock. No third party speech therapy or voice alterations.

It's actually not to high count, if you use small tanks, and small engines, with a command seat, instead of a heavy capsule. I could easily see someone getting off Eve in 75 parts or less.

Somebody managed with an stock 6 ton lander. Mine was a bit over 10 ton, both has kerbal on ladder to avoid the weight of the seat.

Mine was an copycat with somewhat more flexibility and safety. Both uses 45 liter tanks and 48-7S in asparagus.

core and 8 tanks and engines in asparagus, on top is braking parachute and fuel for deorbit and landing, upper stage with ant and oscar and ladder for kerbal on top.

Balloons gives you more flexibility as you can take off from sea level and lift heavier payloads to orbit.

Main issue with any Eve accent is that you has to tune it very hard, my version with seat weight 18 ton, if you want to return a pod you need over 50 ton.

And that require that you hit an mountain top then you land

For 0.22 I think I will add the pod and the science stuff below that lander, add some engines for braking the heavier stuff and use it like the Apollo landing stage.

I like Brotoro's eve accent vehicle, I may model it similar to that with a few tweaks I thought of. I started a new save in .22 so I need to build out my re-fueling and interplanetary infrastructure yet also. I forgot how much time that all takes when starting from scratch!

I should have read. No, I have never attempted an ascent from Eve.

Uhh, Yes, and No, I actually got to Eve, but the parachutes ripped the control pod from the rest of the rocket, so poor Bill Kerman is stranded there temporarily

I started building vehicles about a week before S Manley started "Eve or bust" series, probably never going to finish it.

I have huge rover for kerbals plus fuel and engines docked waiting in orbit. I think Eve lander is complete but I have not built any lifter for it.
