An update on one of my craft, cheers for that idea Overfloater, This thing just became what it was supposed to be to begin with.

Thinking maybe i do want to make an SSTO version about twice the size of this thing just so i can fly it to muns and what not because it would be awesome.

Just holy hell that thing is insane now.

If anyone wants it for the pursuit of smashing aircraft into the VAB here is a download link

http://www./download/mvovdacdvnno727/Hypersonic+law+breaker+mk3.craft

For normal VTOL engines action key is 1, to fire up the horizontal engines and stabilizing engines hit 2, note you can not fly with only the stabilizers and horizontal engines, it is completely balanced in either VTOL or hyper sonic mode otherwise though.

No SAS required, i would suggest it if you are wanting to go 1500m/s though.

I say go for the SSTO, roflcopter! I would love to see how a craft as crazy as that does in space.

I know, heck it goes to space as it is lol, you can bounce it into space after about 4 re entry's to gain speed so an SSTO version should be no worries, Plus being that it has no control surfaces it should handle the same or near the same in space as it does in the atmosphere.

The ssto will be about twice as heavy as this thing though.

So this is where i am on my SSTO VTOL, thinking i may have given it too much fuel, but there is still room to give it twice as many engines so im not fussed on taking any of that fuel away.

And this is a couple hours into the build lol taking ages, had to do a few different designs to get this fuel system working right so that it drains from a central point and never throws off the balance.

Another update on that VTOL, decided to go with nuke engines for the rear boosters being that it is for space.

Looking good so far.

Now to figure out how to add spare liquid fuel for in the atmosphere without ruining the fuel cycle. every time i add a tank it seems to wreck it, i need them connected to the central lines i think.

Well it has been a failure, the save file for the nearly finished craft glitched damn it.

Have to start from scratch, one of the engine is floating in place above the mounts and a bunch of other buggery doo.

Was all because i added extra fuel to the system for in the atmosphere.

Idk why it glitched out the engines when i added the extra fuel, 3 stopped getting fuel from the main tank system even if you replaced the fuel connectors, 2 blew up for no reason and 1 was hovering beside the craft. just what.

Going bigger with more engines and more awesome.

Abandoning the 400 part limit i set myself as well, if some people cant use it, oh well.

@roflcopterkklol:

KSP dont like clipped thinsg very much. i had this problem with my flying wings. they used some partclipping for the engines and intakes but when tried to modifiy it more, liek taking of wingassambly with teh engines, the SPH or VAB started to be crazy and the file got corupted :(

i realy should finish my russian/ukrian/soviet rockets ...

got distracted by a suddenly appearing Atlas-Centaur:

going for working one and a half Atlas stage, interstage ring and Centaur.

Oh there is no part clipping on this thing, was a glitch between the structural adapters for 2 engines and the small fuel tanks i was using because the fuel tanks were attached to the frame via kraken summoning demons, i figured out it was after loading a save, removing engines then adding a double adapter, the double adapters were being placed on ghost nodes, could delete what was behind them and they would float in place, somehow still attached to the craft.

Weird bug.

if i did part clip i could make most my craft half the size by just stacking a bunch of ram airs on top of each other lol.

Anywho i am finished the mk2, first flight i managed to get it to a 500km orbit and back to kerbin, going to do some screen shots this next run totally forgot about it lol, have a video uploading as well.

Not quite as maneuverable as the hypersonic VTOL but i simply had to remove some of the controls, was too agile once in space.

I also figured may as well give it some use so it is a 100% reusable SSTO/interplanetary traveler that can carry 6 kerbals to a destination (not including the driver)

Gets to orbit with no trouble at all either, once refueled interplanetary missions are no worries in it being that it holds 3 orange tanks worth of fuel.

On a side note that fuel system was a damned pain to work out.

Drains perfectly though, the centre of mass never moves.

Idk if i like the look of it to be honest. But then it functions so looks can gtfo for now i guess. maybe one day it will become a flying saucer but not tonight lol.

I will probably do a smaller version now too. may as well.

You can't imagine the feeling when you grab an old replica of yours, try to mess with it to follow a RL upgrade, and it works flawlessly on the first try with just the right oomph to do the job it's supposed to. Considering KSP's scale compared to the real world, must be you got the size perfectly the first time! In this case, the old Phoebus V got an upgrade into "Phoebus V-25(U)" (to google the stuff if you want to see how accurate I got, just change "Phoebus" for "Saturn", it's basically a Saturn V upgraded with four 120" SRBs). Here, so you can see something, though I won't show the payload just yet.

Rune. And the staging sequence is just beautiful, IMO.

I was about to say the same thing about the stack decoupler! It's also impressive how neatly it fits between the two stages! :o

You are referring to the S-I to S-II interstage? If so, thanks, took me a lot of comments and suggestions to refine it for Phoebus... in fact, I don't recall right now if I re-uploaded it to have that more accurate sequence, now that you mention it, I might have to look into that.

Rune. Phoebus was meant to be about part count, but then you guys came in with your wonderful advice, and now it's incredibly accurate too.

Hi Rune.

Looking at the pic of the interstage ring separating, can I see a stock applied fairing in there? What motor is that attached to?

It may be possible to remove the stock fairing.

Yup, good eye and good suggestion, now that I know how. The central "J-2" is actually a poodle... I don't really recall why. It actually steals a bit from the realism, not being the same as the others... I think it was a nozzle size, or a height issue because the others are surface-attached. Anyhow, removing the fairing got on the to-do list right now, even if in a nominal ascent you see it for but an instant before you turn on the S-II's engines and it gets thrown against the S-I to promptly disintegrate, so thanks for that.

Rune. It took a lot of luck to get that shot.

Well, I've got 2 things in WIP currently. I've been making a wall climbing robot and finalizing and boxing up a new heavy launcher for when .25 comes out. The payload for this one is called the "KawaiiLab". Sadly I have no pictures of the "Goliath II" but here's it's payload :P.

Gee this is weird, i do not know what i want to build.... I am going to try and make a submarine i guess.

never made one before.

Wait... a ship with deployable subs.

Someone give me ideas for things to build, i am bad at the what is it stage, only good at actually building things lol.

Bored of science mode so no "i need this" moments going on that make me build stupid things

Well that's good news as the poodles play nice when it comes to the fairing removal!

I know its only seen briefly but its so much cleaner without it.
