1greywind
Work continues:sphere made from 20 degree arc sections (new section design: just 3 parts each)Cylinder built for O'Neill style habitat base. But "mirror wings" of corresponding size that are part of O'Neil design, are beyond my PC performance. May be I'll build orbital dock or colony ship in such shape. Perhaps you (or someone else if, like me, you have never welded anything) want to do so and offer them as a "really big station" part pack. They look so good, that would be awesome!Rune. Otherwise, way above my part count limit too.

1greywind
@Rune: I'm planning to release arc sections (I currently use them in 4 sizes: 12, 18, 24 and 36 segments per full circle) as set of subassembiles. So any person interested in rings or cylinders in their designs will be able to just assemble section or needed size then weld it to reduce lag. Personally I can tolerate lags from about ~1000 parts crafts.

Dakitess
1greywind, really nice designed sphere ! What link did you use between parts ? The classical double-cubic struts ?

1greywind
@Dakitess: sections used in sphere are just 2.5 meter conic adapter and 2 surface attached structural fuselage pieces. No cubic struts.
Roflcopterkklol
Talk about a head ache, for such a small plane this things doing my head in. Maybe i just need to make a bigger one. cant seem to get this thing to fly, well it will fly it is just about as useful when it flies as a bull with utters is the problem. Can not stop it stalling no matter what i do to it, maybe i should use different wings other than stock. Could be time i stop doing stock things i guess, been messing around with stock KSP for a while now.
Spacepigu
I think it just needs some control surfaces.http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/66465-Work-in-Progress-WIP-Design-Thread/page68halfway down.

GusTurbo
Can't wait to see what I can do with those new SP+ parts on the Saturbo V. Maybe I'll get SP+ and do so preliminary work.
RocketPilot573
So I've flown an Ion plane on Eve, it wasn't really much as a success. So now I'm designing and testing a bigger and better one for Duna.

Majorjim!
Can't wait 'til the panels become stock!Yup! its going to be great having more options for fairings. Squad said they tinkered with the surfaces lift stats. I hope that wont cause horizontal force when using these as fairings..
WooDzor
Getting amped about the possibilities the new SP+ parts will offer:http://i.imgur.com/MlRhZMt.pngGus, what are those 12x 5 and degree thingies at the bottom in your VAB? Looks extremely useful.@MajorJim Welcome back. Gotten over your post mission depression? About the funny horizontal lifts wouldn't it mean, keeping in mind that your symmetry is perfect, that these forces balance each other out? The resulting vector of all the forces would only create some drag i think.

Gotten over your post mission depression? Hey man, getting there! Have some annoying leg issue meaning I cant sit at my desk though.. Want to get back to building. Here's hoping the new parts will be fairing friendly! To ninja Gus, that's editor extensions. A very useful tool! Roflcopterkklol
Well here is where i am on the frame for my new plane, burns fuel evenly over the centre of mass so it never moves now to make it a plane...
Roflcopterkklol
An update on my plane, finished doing the ram air intakes for it and thought i would see if it would fly without control surfaces, and yeah it does, it gets to 12,000m with 10/10 intake air, love it. Its hypersonic without being half finished lol, There is not a single control surface on it yet and it is still missing a lot of air intakes. this thing is going to be a beast. Plus, you never really know if SP+ will work the same, some polishing was done on the parts.Edit: according to the devnotes, youtube reveal on Saturday. I predict we'll be playing with it next week, not so long now! Rune. OTOH, I'm a bit anxious to get back to planes, my next launch window is Jool.
