I'm happy to see you return to this. It's a must-have for me.

I don't know how you would do it but could you check if the parts you're texturing are compiled with the specular shader or not? I asked before but you never answered. Adding a specular map can make materials look even better. Have a look here. Some time ago I made a quick and rough tutorial on textures as part of the open mod. The difference between image #21 and #22 is what you get if you have a well designed specular map. It makes models look less like plastic.

Yes, Kip, I use specular on my parts that I think needs it. The stock parts are a retexture though so I can't set it on my own. Hehe

Looks nice, but I'd like some other colours than just dark grey/black.. I know it's common in KWR and these retextures, but the little accents and highlights make them stand out.

Yep, sometimes it is hard to give accents on a small part though ._.

Ok so just that I'm clear; You're saying that stock parts are not compiled with bumped/specular, just bumped?

Nah I'm telling that I can't change the stock part's properties about that. I can't remember that much but I haven't seen any yet that looks like it has specular. Some don't even have bumps.

I would say maybe the Hitchhiker pod? Although to be completely honest I've swapped mine out for a Fustek model with the Squad IVA and I just use that now (until Sumghai finishes IVA on the newest dev series.)

The new KW stuff is out and the 5m parts have a very classic Apollo checkerboard look to them that is pretty cool too. Maybe go in that direction?

IIRC Renaissance already has a Hitchhiker retexture and it looks pretty damn good. The 1-2 Pod is also done in the same style. I'd say have a look at what Reaissance is missing and do that.

I have to agree 100%, the KSPRC stock retexes are top-notch.

I have seen what Proot did and it was spectacular indeed, we have talked about our textures back then and we had no problems with our different re-textures though I used his pack in 0.23.5, I haven't updated since then, I didn't get to use the textures he did. His pack is quite big and my internet is terribad. So, I'm not sure what he has already done mostly but I'll try to do stuff that I have an idea what to texture.

Zerodaspace, not sure, in terms of FPS, I doubt it but in terms of RAM usage, I think so. But hey, 64bit is there. XD

Does this impact performance considerably?

It shouldn't. Blackheart's textures are pretty minimal, in terms of file size. They're not 2048 x 2048 monsters like some of the original B9 textures.

Ah, I have downloaded proot's textures, very good indeed, so I am using them now, meanwhile, KW update had awesome texture update too. As for mine, I changed my original RCS concept to mix with KW's. I think it's coming along pretty well, not yet finished but I think it meets alright with KW tanks.

It's true what mainsailor said but it still a factor, it can eat some, I mean compared to the stock parts, this is HD. Not too much to worry though.

Just please notify us when you do update the download. From the info in the past few pages I am not sure if I should dl the pack and give it a try, or I should wait until you put out an "official .24" update.

Great work so far. Is it your intention to show just a little bit more love to the 2.5m RCS tank, particularly in the area of the "tubes"? Perhaps some sort of hazardous fuel warning label on the center tubes of each cluster of 3, and maybe in general a bit of bump mapping, maybe something reminiscent of the EFT on the Space Shuttle? Examples below.

You should, I added the decoupler texture to update, I'll just tell you guys if I already added another texture again, I don't have "official" whole releases anymore but once I finish a texture, I release it immediately and update the pack.

Ah, the fire diamond. I'm not sure about those but the ridges will come since KW has those designs of their own.
