I followed Spore from before it was released. Problem is EA dumbed it down and made it into a cartoon for the younger audience.

Also, why not make the body thicker along with the limbs? And perhaps make the creature a little shorter so that its mouth is closer to the ground?

Use thundercalf, not those wimpy legs. Get the anteater mouth, like the Jedi Master suggested. Now that your brain is bigger, get the most powerful pack members you can. Get spit and lure your enemies towards your nest so your entire pack attacks them.
