[0.90] TweakScale - Rescale Everything! (v1.50 - 2014-12-24 10:40 UTC)

Still getting the bug where parts from the Kerbin Shuttle Orbiter System are randomly going back to the default size a pon loading the inflight craft. Also when the camera switches modes after the bug has occurred my view zooms way out to the point where I can no longer zoom back in. Then ksp.log starts to fill with this until it overflows and crashes.

[LOG 00:19:18.430] Look rotation viewing vector is zero

Nope, it's not that. You do have an ungodly amount of NullReferenceExceptions from Clouds.Clouds.Update, which makes me worried.

Also, is EnvironmentalVisualEnhancements updated for 24.2? There seems to be discussion of an overhaul.

Your Deadly Reentry seems to be out of date.

Other mods that I'm not sure are updated, nor whether such an update is necessary:

Clouds.clouds.update, is that EVE/Better Atmospheres related? Removed that, didn't help. Checked and DRE is up to date, Research them all is a little unsupported one-off from Sarbian and Custom Asteroids was just installed a few days ago, and initially worked.

Tried removing DangIt, then re-installing the most current version. Changed what I'm seeing in the debug screen slightly but still didn't fix the problem. Log 1 is from no Dangit, Log2 is the updated version.

Seems like it must be something related to all the "yellow" errors, I see they mention Tweakscale alot, also SmartParts & stuff I don't recognize, then InvalidState which I'm assuming is the actual FU the game is giving me with the stage list.

Noticed something interesting with my issue.... restoring the scale.dll from Goodspeed fixes the stage list bug, but breaks TweakScale. Removing it reverses the bugs again. And it only seems to affect certain ships. Some ships I can load fine, some have the stage bug. New ships seem unaffected too (for now). The only possible similarities I see in the affected ships is they all use HGR parts (which are just parts and have no plugins), and possibly SmartParts.

hmmm, I made another install of ksp on my hard drive, and with a fresh install I am running tweakscale without any problems, but when putting all my mods back in, it didn't work, so it's clearly one of the mods causing it not to work.

Now I will have to filter through all my mods, trying their compatability one mod at a time. I will let you know which mod turned out to be the culprit when I know more.

EDIT: well, it seems it was infernal robotics that caused tweakscale not to work. I have the latest kspapiextensions.dll installed in both tweakscale folder and infernal robotics folder, but when I have infernal robotics installed, I can not tweak any parts.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Don't do that. Load half of your mods, see if the problem occurs. If so, you've ruled out the other half as causing the problem. If not, you've ruled out the current half. By cutting mods in half, you cold test 30 mods in about 8 iterations instead of 30.

I'm curious... why is it that the version history on the OP only covers up to 1.41? Are 1.42-1.43 too inferior to warrant an update to their history... like Hermann Kerman? What... you've never heard of Hermann? That's good, cause no one else has. That's the point... I think...

...come to think of it... who the heck am I even?

Hi guys

I've been experiencing a similar problem described earlier:

I do have a problem. It seems that I can resize many parts, like fuel tanks, but when I right click on an engine and some other types of part, I don't have the option to rescale anymore.

If I right click on an engine, I have the option to adjust the trust limiter and lock gimbal but I can't resize. However it works fine with fuel tanks.

Any idea what is causing this??

It's the first time I install Tweakscale. I'm on Windows 7 64bits.

This is my Gamedata folder

This is my Output_Log file

As stated above my problem is with engines not showing the scale editor on right click - Eg: The stock NASA pack engines like the S3 KS-25x4 Engine Cluster

I am able to re-size the fuel tanks no problem.

I'd be grateful if someone had the time to look through the information I've provided and help me solve the problem.

Thanks

Eudae55

Edit1: It seems that Jet Engines (Stock & Non-Stock like B9 for example) are able to be scaled. Every other type of chemical rocket engine is not (I didn't check Ion Propulsion).

Edit2: Every instance of KSPAPIExtensions.dll is the most up-to-date version.

Along the same line..... Almost all parts, as in supplied .cfg files and more specifically the config for B9, are tweakscale'ing just as they should. However a few parts, such as "B9_Engine_Jet_Turbojet" do not show the tweakscale dialog on RMB....

I have looked through the .cfg files for engines that tweak versus those that don't and have not found anything sticking out that looks different.

If anyone out there in kerbal space has run into this, or has an idea, please let me know....

For now, I am having to make duplicate parts and do a hard rescale to get down or up to size needed.....

Thanks for any help.

DrTedAstro.

I'm not sure if you have realfuels installed but I do. I found a file called "Tweakscale_remover.cfg" in the RealFuels folder and deleted it and hey presto, my engines can scale now.

Hopefully this doesn't break anything as I haven't tested anything other than the fact that the thrust and weight scales correctly for me.

Edit 1: This has broken the Procedural Fuel Tank part (its able to be placed but RMB doesn't do anything for this part) of the Procedural Parts mod. The other procedural parts are unaffected.

Anyone know how to make this work with TAC Life Support? I've read the OP but the description is overly general, so I don't understand where I'm supposed to make the changes/additions, or what I'm supposed to put into the fields.

Can you set scale exponents on a per-part basis? I'm trying to scale engines so that the TWR is conserved (i.e. mass needs an exponent of 2 instead of 3). So far I only found examples with globally defined exponents.

Edit: Version 1.24 lists per-scaletype exponents as a feature, can anyone point me to an example config where this is used?

Exactly the same happens to me with a config file I created for Fustek space station mode, some of the parts work just fine but other won't display the tweakscale dialog. Same as you I compared the config file from parts that worked and some that did not work but did not found any difference. I even try to remove some modules on the part that cause troubles but nothing seems to work. Very strange issue, I did give up trying to fix that after a while but I still wonder where that come from.

Yes, a mystery.... I will go back and try to work something out little later. If i get it going I will post and PM you.

Huh, I also had a problem a few pages back where a couple NovaPunch parts wouldn't tweakscale, but most other things would. I never figured it out either...

To make this work, just put "TWEAKSCALEEXPONENTS { mass = 2 }" inside the TweakScale module in your config, I think.

Hello fellow Kerbonauts!

I am currently trying to make these (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/43840-Hab-Hub-(and-other-strange-things) radial tanks scaleable (don't like my current part clutter in the VAB) but after inserting the Tweakscale module (tried with all three available options: surface, free and stack) either via Modulemanager or hardcoding it into the part.cfg the tanks won't attach to e.g. to a command pod anymore nor are they scaleable :( . What did I do wrong? I gladly provide any further information needed.

Thank you all and best regards

PS: Just now I got a NullReferenceException after trying the above, on KSP 0.24.2 x86, just Ioncross, Toolbar, Tweakscale and the spherical tanks installed, Modulemanager 2.3.4, Firespitter 0.6.5, my output log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/nu1n3quih7pgd9y/output_log.txt?dl=0

I too am a big fan of those tanks and a while ago I wrote a quick MM patch to add tweak scale to them. I'm away from my PC for the weekend but when I get home I'll share my MM patch with you if you still need it.

Does anyone know how this mod could be made compatible with AIES Aerospace?

yes, but you've got to do the work. For each AIES part, create an entry in a file. Call the file AIES_Tweakscale.cfg . Then store the CFG file in TweakScale directory. The OP shows the format. It's really quite easy. You may wish to share the completed file with the community. Look at the example entries.
