[0.24] Spaceplane Plus 1.3

Hehe that's really sweet of you guys, but don't worry, I'm properly credited! The in-game manufacturer was 'Lockspeed Kerman' before and It's quite meaningless.

As for the future of this mod, ALL of the parts are in 0.25, polished em up myself, better than they've ever been, so don't worry about this mod version anymore, it's served its purpose. And as for new parts, I got contracted to do some more parts for Squad (!) that's gonna keep me busy for a while, and if there's anything left to wish for after that, I'll likely start a new mod.

Hope you're gonna have fun with the new parts when .25 finally hits!

Congratulations Porkjet! The new polished parts and their symmetrical profile are really awesome. I liked SP+ as a mod very much and i am really glad, that you and Squad agreed in taking them into the stock part list.

Hopefully we are going to see the round shaped cockpit and nose cone we saw in your mod screenshots. They are simply beautiful.

Keep it goin´! :)

so what happens now with this mod? i know that many of the parts are now incorporated into the game by squad but some of my designs are broken now like the parts have vanished. will there be more parts for this mod, or is there at least a plan to "export" the objects to the incorporated squad versions? i would really like to be able to get two of designs to be useable as one is a very nifty multi rover and the other is my main shuttle.

@endl:

If you use a decent programmer's text editor like Notepad++ (Win) or TextWrangler (Mac), you should be able to find/replace across multiple craft files to change the part names. The bigger issue is that all the fuselage parts change shape, not just name.

@Fr8monkey:

More information would help, since there's almost no way for parts to simply not show up. Please follow the guidelines in the How to Get Support sticky the in Support (modded installs) forum.

Reloaded the game and it returned... Must be the Kraken!

It's not imaginary monsters, it's a user issue. What do you want anyone here to do about it if you don't provide information?

You say you installed it in the right folder but you don't actually tell anyone WHAT folder you installed it so that they can decide if you installed it correctly.

You don't say what VERSION of KSP you're trying to install it in. If it's 0.25, most of these parts are in the game already under the same names.

You also don't say what game mode you're playing. If it's career mode they need to be unlocked.

Master Tao is right, the parts WORK if you installed them correctly. If they're not there then you're not doing something right. And you need to follow his advice and read those guidelines on how to get help because you're not doing that right either. If you want help you have to provide a bare minimum of information as outlined in those guidelines.

Unless you want to change out the IVA, yeah, it's defunct. The only difference is the RPM MFDs in the cockpit of SP+ and the dark undersides. There's actually more parts in 0.25 stock.

How would I go about putting the RPM MFD's onto the now stock MK2? Is that possible?

it would be easier to just rebuild it from scratch

sorry if this has been asked before, but how do I get your RPM enabled internals to work with the Squad versions of the parts? I know I can just install SPP along side the .25 parts, but it'd be a lot cleaner if I could get the best of both worlds in one set of parts.

That shouldnt be too hard... I dont think the internals changed much. They might have changed name (certainly the URLs have changed)

Porkjet didn't do the RPM part of it though I don't think....?

It's an F-35 "Lightning 2", which is basically a VTOL-capable version of the F-22 "Raptor"...In a way, the F-22 was a "prototype" of the X-35 design that was so good it was rushed into production...but now that the X-35 design is finished, and the resulting F-35 model is approved for production, the F-22's production has been stopped, because it is was more expensive and less versatile (since it was a "prototype", as far as Lookheed Martin [the designers and fabricators] were concerned).

As for the request, I think it's a nice idea...It would be pretty much single-purpose, and it would need "the same" other radial-based engines to balance the CoL and CoM, but it's still a nice idea...

It is from an F35B (The VTOL version).

The way it works, there is a "crankshaft" between the main engine and the VTOL fan.

When the crankshaft is engaged, the F35Bs engine powers both the main turbofan AND the VTOL fan.

This of course means that the main turbofan at the back loses some of it's maximum power when in VTOL mode. But it has the advantage of not needing a heavy second engine just to power the VTOL fan.

In conventional mode, the VTOL fan is disengaged and all power from the engine goes into the main turbofan.

This explanation is in case someone does decide to make a KSP version. Which I would be interested in as well. :)
