[WIP] Orbital Kolonization System... it's MKS... in space!

Name says it all. A pretty easy mod since it's just an alternate parts pack, needed something fun to do while waiting for 0.24 to hit ;)

The style is (very) loosely inspired by the Zarya ISS module (first pic in album)

Just need to test everything out and add the config file generation, as well as some labeling to the modules.

Space stations are awesome, and lots of people like to build them in KSP. But they had few useful purpose in the game... until RoverDude brings us OKS!

This mod could become even more popular than MKS, because assembling stuff in zero G is much easier than precise landing+moving on surface. I love MKS, but it is pretty damn hard (and time consuming) to get a fully working base.

But i'd like to use Porkjet's inflatables with MKS as well. Personally I like them better than the ones you have, although the rest of the station bits and the base bits in your other pack are absolutely great.

Well, I can't touch them because of the license. But you can go crazy and modify configs if you're so inclined.

Looking great! Could you make a single USI box set download :D? So that people who want to download all of your mods can do it all at once? nvm, just saw how on dropbox you can download them all.

roverdude why dont u just start from ground and build u a part pack like kw and such with everything lol.

Actually all of the stuff pretty much centers around the whole colonization/exploration bit - hence why I deprecated having a capsule model in MKS, and try to steer away from engines, etc. (except for weird ones like the DERP). I'd rather focus on the sweet spot that right now is giving me tons of fun :)

So when done, the catalog will be Asteroid mining with Hollow Asteroids and it's upcoming expansion, merging into orbital refineries and onto orbital settlements with OKS, then planetary poineering with PackRat and it's companion science outpost (in the works), followed by planetary colonization with MKS.

when i mean a pack i mean like a group of parts like mks but they all bunndled together so say like having oks and mks together would be it.

well right now would be happy if u combined all your differnt mod pages into one page getting a bit wild to keep track of 7 differnt topics along with the dependencies for the mods lol.

I wish I could help, RoverDude. I really do. Your mods are amazing and incredible, but pretty much the only thing I could do would be descriptions and ideas. *sigh*

Anyways, I really can't wait for this. I heard you mention it before... will you be adding in some science modules? MKS, I feel is excellent for mining situations. For OKS, you should focus on science acquisition, as space mining doesn't make much sense! That way both your mods could focus on one major aspct of Career mode, with OKS being midgame and MKS being endgame.

Yep, there will be some sciency-stuff. And OKS will be sweet for asteroid mining

His system is simple, but lacks the incredible models of your work. I really think you could merge the mods and turn it into a huge thing; perhaps even merge it with OKS into a massive pack.

Yep, familiar with that mod ;) had some chats early on, but at the moment I really want to make sure I can complete both WaRi's vision for the hollow asteroids and my own for how I want mining ops to work.
