Just noticed Kerbals have one eye smaller than the other!

Was looking at my Jeb model from Shapeways and then noticed his left eye is bit smaller then the right. So I thought hmmmm maybe its an error in the 3D printing but I'd heard that the Shapeways model is made directly from the game 3d model. So had a look at the Kerbals in game and realised it is true!

So what ideas you you guys have as to why Kerbals evolved one eye bigger than the other?

yeah, and you cant unsee it. ever. so from here on, any time you look at any of your kerbals faces, it will be all you are capable of perceiving, you may even be rendered temporarily mute by this phenomena.

The Kerbals also have a bad case of "walleye", in that both eyes aim outward, and never converge on the same object they're viewing.

Oh yes definitely impossible to unsee it, what staggers me is I played this game 18 months without seeing it and 8 months I've had the Shapeways model and didn't see it there either until now.

Haha, I acutally noticed that a few times already when zooming in on my kerbals in game, but I always though it was a perception trick or just my imagination

I don't know anything about eyes but..

Maybe one eye for seeing near thinks and one for far things? And remember that in IVA, a Kerbal's vision can zoom up to like x20.

One eye evolved to be smaller so they'd have less mass for spaceflight.

It's probably evolved from all their ancestors smacking their faces on the dashboards of previous exploits (invention of the horse and buggy, etc) and exploding in glorious ways.
