Yeah, the heat death of the universe is one of the grimmer predictions of science. Given how immutable the Laws of Thermodynamics seem to be it seems like a pretty bombproof prediction, too. It's a stupidly long time away, but it always makes me a little bit sad to think about it.

Slight off topic, but at that point, I think much of society would have restructured itself into a more communist system so that jobs wouldn't be as essential, and superfluous jobs wouldn't be needed to keep the economy running. Buckminster Fuller's job quote.
