I'm bored. I need some inspiration.

Just like the title says. Whenever I start a new rocket, for one reason or another, I get rid of it. I really need some inspiration. Can anyone point me toward a half-decent rocket company or vehicle?

Have you tried planes? I like to go back and forth or burn out too fast. Nothing cures boredom like a nice flight around Kerbin.

I also find I enjoy sharing my planes with others more, so I design more of them. Part of that is how easy it is to slap a rocket together, but when you spend all the time perfecting a plane, you want others to see it.

Try buzzing the tower. If you're successful, try it closer. Then closer...then asymptotically closer.

Bonus points if you destroy the SPH. Bonus JEBEDIAH points if your pilot(s) survive(s) without parachutes.

Yeah, planes are good for when you want to have some fun flying around, but don't want that whole launch-orbit-transfer-land procedure... I just build new bomber designs

Alternatively, you could do something ambitious on the scale of the proposed Mars Direct mission (ie. build a long-term base on Duna and return to Kerbin once the two planets are properly aligned again). Maybe even add in a few difficulty-enhancing mods like TAC Life Support, Ferram Aerospace Research, perhaps Deadly Re-Entry and RemoteTech as well.

I have tried for literally almost a year to convince bored KSP'ers to build a replica moai statue out of structural panels and land it on the island with the old runway. For some reason, no one ever does

before the career version I started creating a leisure company. It consisted of a SSTO which could take a detachable hitch hiker can up in to a space hotel in LKO. It was designed at the time so the tourists didn't have to leave the can at all. I then had a ferry which would take them over to mun and minmus where their hitch hiker can could dock with a pad on the ground next to a munbase - I was planning a duna base as well as a large passenger ferry to take them out there and back. I was also planning on making a luxury resort on Laythe and have a ferry system to a port in low laythe orbit with ssto's which would shuttle the tourists down to the resort. Then career came out and I abandoned the idea - but I'm always planing to pick it up again once I get enough kerbal funds to start it up again.

Try to recreate your favorite RL missions or craft. Its very satisfying.

I'm currently starting a new space program in which I am trying to create a self-sufficient base and construction site on most planets (Using Kethane and Extraplanetary launchpads). So far I am prototyping single-launch advance base/construction ships on the mun, that can expand upon themselves when landed.

This little project got me back into KSP pretty well.

Hah! Nice. I started doing stuff like this until I found the game has a hiccup every time you come near the area, now they just get set up and then recovered once I've taken photos.
