So for now I just build little rockets over and over again to test one or two parts at a time to raise enough money to upgrade the VAB AND the Launch Pad...

There is also a sandbox mode. Or you can crank up the reward multipliers in the difficulty settings, so that you only need to take the contracts that you like.

Give some of the other options a try if you don't wish to build planes for survey contracts.

Is anyone else having problems after the update? The game goes through about half of the loading and then just goes back to desktop. Real confused here. Please help if able.

Welp, it's finally happened. Stock KSP can no longer run on my system with only 2GB of memory. Maybe ATM will be an option soon, but if not my space program is likely done forever. If that's so, thanks to HarvesteR and everyone else at Squad for the hundreds of hours of geeky fun.

This is not a complaint. This is not Squad's fault in any way.

You could always set your graphics settings down, thats what I had to do.

Okay so how do earn pilot xp? I got 1xp for my first launch and nothing since. Loving it otherwise so far!

Flights, flybys, orbits, landings, and planting flags are the ones I remember off the top of my head. Kerbin is slightly more restrictive, simply because it's right there.

You can only log one of those per body per flight though (but multiple bodies per flight), and can earn each one only once... So plan accordingly. :D

HOLY CRAP!!!! I was not expecting this so early! Firing up the patcher now on my stock 32 bit. Gonna wait a week on my modded 64 bit for all the mods to update. Damn, right as I was finishing sorting my mod conflictions too.

I might be making a note about this on my website too if anyone actually reads my stuff there. :P

Welp, time to wipe all my mod storage and wait for them to update. I guess this is a good time as any to look at which mod is truly essential to me and remove some others.

Is that once per kerbal, or once for the whole space program? Kind of hard to train new pilots if your vet kerbal "happened" to flew into the sun in the fomer case.

FYI: Win 64-bit career mode is suffering a deeply buried bug that makes it relatively unplayable. Sandbox mode seems usable still.

Is that once per kerbal, or once for the whole space program? Kind of hard to train new pilots if your vet kerbal "happened" to flew into the sun in the fomer case.

Per kerbal. In other words, you can't simply launch your kerbal into a short Kerbin flight over and over to earn XP. You must give them new experiences.

Really? I haven't tried a career game on my 64 as I play much more lightly modded career than I do sandbox. Maybe that's why people complain about instability. My career KSP install doesn't have enough mods to warrant being 64, so I've never played 64 bit career. MY sandbox mode is perfectly stable, no issues whatsoever that cant be traced to a mod interaction.

Need to upgrade R&D center for Surface Samples.

Evil: 2 contracts at a time, and if you orbit before you can take your contract (such as pickup a Launchpad and the 11k) you lose the exploration contract completely. That's just not cool. Be very accurate with your contracts.

That's good to hear. The problem with Win 64-bit career mode is that the building models show up fully upgraded, even though the rest of the game thinks they are at Tier 1. So there's no way to upgrade them, and you're stuck with the Tier 1 limits. Makes it very hard to progress.
