  3. As a 16 year old, I sincerely apologize for some of the more immature people of my generation, we're not all bad. (I too wonder why it's not common knowledge that the Internet was popular in the 80s and 90s) As for the idea that people of all ages can't play KSP (which is ridiculous) it probably comes from our parents, some of whom may have played video games in their youth but do not now. (mine included) this makes the idea of someone older gaming feel strange to us, hence the unwarranted negative responses on IRC

  6. Is there any way to fix kerbin from looking like it does in this screenshot? (notice the lines on the continent below) I am running scatterer 0.191 with Ubuntu 14.04 in Opengl with KSP in 64 bit mode. It looks fine except between the altitudes of around 60 and 160 km.   7. When that happens, I press [key]esc[/key] and go back to the start menu and then reenter the game, usually fixes everything.
  8. Is there any way to make the skybox dimming more sensitive? I would love to be able to have the skybox dimmed even when doing something like looking at a lit up ship. (I'm not afraid of opening up monodevelop if need be)
  9. What diameter rocket parts are you using for your transfer vehicle? IMHO, you need at least 2.5m parts to do rovers, maybe mk2 if you squeeze it in there.
  10. AFAIK, Pretty much every change is under the hood. We are likely to see performance improvements but the game will look pretty much the same

  12. Is there similar data for FAR? I would assume an advanced nosecone type A in the center + advanced nosecone type B on the outside would be the best but I could be wrong.
  13. Will we be able to use LaTEX on the new forum software? It would be awesome to have easy to type good looking math equations. Maybe something like a [math][/math] tag or [latex][/latex] tags?

  15. Completely happy with my new Logitech Extreme 3d Pro in linux. As a side note, the Advanced fly-by wire mod makes joysticks configurable in game without having to go back and forth with the settings in game, as well as a really clear way to map everything out. It also lets you configure the throttle as an axis so it's got that going for it, which is nice.
  16. 1.1: When you start the game it just shows a black screen with nothing on it 1.1.1 patch, 2 hours later: whops sorry forgot to include the game in this update here you go! This is why I should not run a game company
  17. I'm scared. Today I just got my brand-new Logitech Extreme 3D Pro Joystick and I plugged it in, started KSP and everything worked fine (I used the advanced fly-by wire mod). From what I've heard joysticks in KSP are supposed to be super janky and hard to get working, especially under linux . Is there anything special I did or is this normal behavior in 1.0.5? Could it have anything to do with the steam controller support squad added a few days ago?

  20. I know that this is probably way out of scope, but I would love to have planets that look like the Long Dark, with much more rugged terrain and better visual effects. I want to be coming don't to a planet and get 100m to the surface and be like, oh crap I cant land here there is a 40 degree slope with a field of boulders. Mountains should be proper mountains, with overhangs and pointy peaks, not just the majority of rolling hills we see in KSP. There should also be dynamic weather. I.E duna bases become more red and dusty over time, snow on kerbin etc. One more thing that needs an upgrade is the skybox, it looks really grey and empty, stars blend into the background too much.   21. I clicked on this title expecting a complaint rant, was pleasantly surprised!
  22. I don't think many mod's are expected to break with 1.0.5, the only backend change is the core temp thing

I don't start to notice lag from parts until around 150 on my very heavily modded install, however reentry effects completely kill the framerate for me, unless I have them turned down to minimal. Specs: Elementary OS 0.3 (Based on ubuntu 14.04), GTX 760, i7-2600, and 12 gigs of ram. Is this normal?
  24. It's been a long time since I felt the feeling of accomplishment that I felt when I released this jumbo-64 into orbit
  25. In my experience, their heads are almost invincible, if you land on it the kerbal loses a ton of velocity and ragdolls, landing elegantly in one peice.
