It wouldn't happen automatically, but you can add their names to the Vets list in the USI-LS options when they become vets.

I finally ended up buying the DLC because of this, I have been on the fence because I didn't want OP parts for the Kerbal system, but the fact that things were given a second look and tweaked cemented the decision for me. Now to play with them!

You could try to create a photo album of Kerbals posing in front of all the anomalies in the game. It'd be a good idea to have ScanSat for that one.

Mun - Orbit and landing
Waxing_Kibbous replied to miki1234's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Dang OP has a decent amount of tech happening, the only thing I'd want to be safe are solar panels. You could get to the Mun easily with a decent lander that could hit 2-3 biomes with your current tech, I won't give a design but I'll say don't be afraid to use 2.5m parts. Again though, you may have to micromanage your batteries because of the lack of a solar panel. -
Do you play KSP only or are you into lots of games?
Waxing_Kibbous replied to Klapaucius's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've been playing games since the atari 2600/arcade game 80's, but I consider myself in between casual and hardcore gaming these days. The last console I had was a gamecube, and these days only play a few select games in bursts, but I think it's a well rounded selection: KSP, Rimworld, Borderlands 2, Kingdom Rush series, Hollow Knight, I'm trying Cities:Skylines but the whole traffic thing is stressing me out :P -
KSP Loading... A closer look into Update 1.6

I'm getting as excited for this release as I was for 1.2, heck I may even get the expansion if Squad keeps this goodness up -
KSP Loading... A closer look into Update 1.6
Waxing_Kibbous replied to SQUAD's topic in KSP1 The Daily Kerbal
I love the new Terrier, I know there is some nostalgia because it's such a great engine, but these new variants are pretty as hell - the yellow-gold striping is a nice homage the the OG version. Concerning the dV readout, as an old school player who likes the gamey aspect of just guessing if my rocket will get there and back, will there be an option either in the main options or config file to disable it? (dodges tomatoes) I've used KER at one point and decided building rockets became to mechanical for my tastes. -
You can do actual weird math fyi

OK devs, keep the train going. The community love is flowing, lets keep the momentum up. Ap/Pe readout in craft view, as well as radar altitude. Easy to add, big payoff for players. This is an easy win. Some sort of transfer window planner, either by feel or raw numbers. By feel I mean showing a color gradient in the orbits in the control center, otherwise a proper planner a la TWP, or a guided approach like KAC. You have the coder on staff already, should be straightforward. An unlockable progression in career mode is perfectly fine. This is a big stumbling block to leave the Kerbin system, helping the player a bit is pretty important. These three things on top of dV would complete the obvious data needed by players in game. Let's get this stuff in stock and move on to more interesting stuff!

A KSP Loading... Preview: Helmet Removal
Waxing_Kibbous replied to SQUAD's topic in KSP1 The Daily Kerbal
Nice to see the team responding to community feedback with these touches (see also launching from a command seat). I think 1.2 was such a great release because so much happened based on listening to players, I look forward to 1.6 and beyond if they keep an open mind about the balance between the game and the community. -
There are some solid mods that cover it already, but an official LS+Habitat expansion would be pretty cool. LS can be interesting, I think USI-LS has some good concepts and great customization for any level player. Add to it a mod like Earn Your Stripes where you can make orange suit vets and you get even more interesting play, for instance you can set veterans to be unaffected by hab time . LS should always be an option however!

A "KSP Loading..." Preview: the Mk2 Lander Can
Waxing_Kibbous replied to SQUAD's topic in KSP1 The Daily Kerbal
I agree that seeing many parts getting some love is fantastic, and that softening the window corners either with a bevel or rounded corner would go a long way for this one. The rover variant is a great addition as well, fills a gap quite nicely. -

@theJesuit do you have any plans to do the simplified version again, or even better does the old one still work? Great to see this mod updated!

Poll: What's Wrong with Stock Science
Waxing_Kibbous replied to natsirt721's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I'd love to see the science be more like science, many of the instruments give specific data already, I'd like to see more proper data collection happening as opposed to simply running an experiment once. Eg. something like graphotron, or some long term science experiments. It'd be cool to be able to see the results as well, people could compare their research. -
Looking for fair settings for these values, something where colonizing the outer planets would be feasible: // quality-of-life settings IdealLivingSpace = // ideal living space per-capita in m^3 ComfortFirmGround = // firm-ground comfort factor ComfortExercise = // exercise comfort factor ComfortNotAlone = // not-alone comfort factor ComfortCallHome = // call-home comfort factor ComfortPanorama = // panorama comfort factor

KSP Weekly: Thrusting into the future
Waxing_Kibbous replied to SQUAD's topic in KSP1 The Daily Kerbal
Please please please give the 2.5m parts some love, they are workhorse parts that are currently the weakest visually. -
New parts are coming along nicely- is 1.5 going to be a comprehensive graphics update?

Next DLC; Planetary Exploration?
Waxing_Kibbous replied to Mark Kerbin's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Kerbal racing man! Have some cool driving/flying courses designed nicely into the planets, add some faster wheels/high performance parts, etc. The courses would have rings/mandatories/start/finish that are only visible when a race mode is toggled. Racing! -
KSP Future DLC Ideas
Waxing_Kibbous replied to Dedpewlio's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
If we are going to dynamically load planets I'd be happy just giving the current ones some more personality- hand made geographic features, more stuff to do, danger, interesting parts, etc. You know, things you would see in a game. If you have a hundred planets to explore that have 8-12 biomes and all you can do on them is build a base, plant a flag, and get science what's the point.
