Breaking grounds slowed down KSP
Serenity replied to Kerbonaut M's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
How about Terrain Detail and Surface FX? BE very CAREFUL when changing terrain detail!!!!Its very risky!Backup first and i suggest using World Stabilizer mod if things dont go the right way when loading vessels at ground!!!!! -
BDarmory without physics range extended sounds like...uhh like not really a good idea. You wouldnt be able to do most ''fun'' things. Personally in my largest ground bases i just deal with it.I put my brain is slowmo and tell myself 15-20 fps is fine .
-
, Physics range extender mod is the Death Star of Kerbal mods.It can be so good and powerful but it can also destroy your frame rates if not used properly .Try playing without it, it shouldnt affect anything...hopefully...make a backup and see if its better.Still so many vessels there as @Geonovast said, 15-20 fps sounds normal for so many things in physics range.

Too many lights/shadows might be the major issue. Go to graphic settings and lower/disable Pixel light count and Shadow cascades.
-
Umm you probably already know this but just in case, with Alt+F12 to open the cheat menu and you can renderzvous with any vessel or set an orbit etc.(Also Hyperedit if you are using mods). Yeah sometimes is rough and have to get creative to overcome such problems.I am glad you fixed your vessel. Also if you are on steam(after doing backup) try to verify the files, doesnt hurt in case something is wrong.

Missing Squad folder
Serenity replied to The Dressian Exploder's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Are you on Steam? Are you looking on the correct install location?Maybe its in a different folder? Check your recycling bin just in case... Uhmm this sounds like a user permission problem, admin rights etc. Try to view the hidden files:Click View at the top of the folder window then Hidden items. -
KSP Loading... Preview: KAL-1000 Actions
Serenity replied to St4rdust's topic in KSP1 The Daily Kerbal
Wow , peeeeeeerfect!More awesome content!Thank you! -
Lets remember that most games cant implement mods without risking some stability standards. So maybe KAS does it by playing around kraken playgrounds but that just cant happen in an official release.

New Robotics Parts glitch
Serenity replied to Rocketscience101's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Welp...autostruts are gonna save you then.(Yes it is a stock feature and a life saver). While ingame hit Escape->Settings->Advanced Tweakables. Then in editor or even in vessels already launched right click to a part and you can autostrut almost everything. They make vessels a lot stronger and without the need to use the normal struts and make the vessel look ''ugly'' or add to the number of the parts.Make sure you use them wisely and try to stick on grandparent. Heavy and Root autostrut tend to cause problems.I prefer launching a vessel with one or two heavy autostruts then disabling them while in orbit(Still risky though). If you want more info on them google is your friend, there are many posts about them . -
New Robotics Parts glitch
Serenity replied to Rocketscience101's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
This does look a lot when the autostrut kraken happens.Make sure you using only grandparent and try to avoid Heavy and Root Part autostrut.Other than that, do you have the solar panels directly attached to the robotic part? Do the robotic parts have autostruts? -
I am gonna try picking up a module and see if i can move it around.Would be nice to avoid the whole docking/undocking part. What do you think? Will it actually work? Something like this

Isnt Unity supposed to be the most effective/simple/fast way to create these type of games? Whenever someone asks why its not using a different engine this is usually the answer they get...am i wrong? I dont know, i am not a programmer, just what i hear from developers when this question is thrown around.
-
Hmm there is also waiting for Unity to improve a bit.No point in getting in the same problems all over again.

I really want at some point a new KSP game but my logic inside me tells me thats probably not gonna happen. Big companies take the best from each indie studio and merge them in bigger games/plans. Also when an indie game got a sequel?I cant really recall many, such a rare thing to see. One example for indies unable to make a sequel is Subnautica. They eventually took the road to DLC but well in stand alone form maybe unable to require the cash needed for a new game?

Whaaaaait what? Can we grab things with them?I am so confused, and excited . Does it add more grip than usual compared to other parts?
