spacebar confusion during EVA
Serenity replied to dawfedora's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
If i got this right, you entered the craft with the first Kerbal and you gained control of the vessel and not the Second Kerbal that was out. So maybe you got confused and though you control the Kerbal outside but you were actually controling the craft. I dont have much experience with locked Stages but i think if a Kerbal enters or it docks with something you have to re enable it to truly be locked. -
Upside down nose cone?
Serenity replied to catloverjerrygarcia's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
You can also Shift Move it, its cheaty but usually those designs need to attach parts somewhere and else and shift move it very far away. -

Video glitch renders game unplayable
Serenity replied to Sp4rk4s's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
One or two corrupt files is normal when you verify. So nothing to worry about here. I wish i could help more, it does sound like the game is not using the Nvidia card, but i really dont know much about these things. Hopefully someone can help, there are some posts i found in case you missed them: https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/157991-using-ksp-on-a-computer-without-an-extra-graphics-card/ https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/99483-cannot-run-on-laptop-dedicated-graphics-nvidia/ https://www.reddit.com/r/KerbalSpaceProgram/comments/ar867k/ksp_not_using_dedicated_gpu/ -
Are you using Realtek Drivers? They are usually the best but you have to figure out how to remove the confilicting drivers that come with Windows and Graphic card etc. Some posts and solutions i found with google: https://steamcommunity.com/app/220200/discussions/0/144512753469545702/ https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/180786-no-sound-on-new-steam-ksp-install/ https://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/177768-no-sound/

Very Low Framerates Spontaneously
Serenity replied to GreyGriff's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Can you check if Windows is updating?Sometimes that causes me sudden problems without even knowing it. You can also try opening task manager to see hows the memory/cpu percentages going. Other things might be temperature problems, do you have similar experience to other games? -
Jello spacecraft?
Serenity replied to Squirbal's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Are you using Autostruts? They help prevent wobbles in large crafts but careful not to use the Heavy one much. Use mostly Grandparent. You turn them on with Advanced Tweakables at settings. This does sound like the ''Kraken'' attacks.Try also verifying the files on Steam, there might be something corrupted. -
coupler won't attach
Serenity replied to Rogue Phoenix's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Are you using Autostruts? They usually help in the wobble part. Just careful when you use them, there are posts about how its best.(grandparent not heavy).- 6 replies

HUH, radial you say?Thats really interesting...i gotta try it.Tnx ").

You are correct, in normal sitiuations it isnt really a problem but when you need to burn fast and big to land then it becomes one. I should have clarified that this happens with very high powered landers.Like Boosters landing back to Kerbin or Landers with well quite larger engines than they should really need to land on planets like Mun. The problem there is everything happens so fast and the marker moves like almost instantly, just enough to flip your lander.
-
The problem is at 10-20ms the retrogade starts changing/moving to prograde, which is normal cause it will change IF you keep accelerating. But if you want to soft land and reach close to zero velocities the vessel will flip instantly when you have locked SAS to retrogade. So i am guessing this is more of a gameplay mechanic so the markers wont instantly change/appear after you hit Zero velocity.

How to properly use interstage nodes?
Serenity replied to Arch3rAc3's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Wow, you really tried to help him even with not much to go on, so thats a good job eitherway. Hopefully we can get more info(like screenshots) cause i am way too confused on this one . -
The problem became probably with SAS overworking itself and messing around with aero forces in constant level. Sometimes you can also Hold F button(the default key) to turn temporaly SAS to give it a small breather. I find this very useful when i try to land and the velocity comes close to 10-20 and the retrogade marker goes crazy. Which doesnt result in good landings if you have the retrogade locked.

I am not sure how Sandbox works. You could always play normal Career to enjoy the game with all the features(Missions, Science etc) and use Alt+F12 to give yourself money or science or just upgrade everything. You can move your crafts to the new save but i am afraid all the other progress might not be trasferable.

can't recover kerbal
Serenity replied to Space Nerd's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Do you see anything in the Astronauts Tab at the Tracking Station? I am curious in the Astronaut Complex what is the vessel it says they are assigned to?Is that vessel fully recovered?Maybe it broke in parts? Go to your game main folder location->saves->Your Carreer Name->Saves->persistent.sfs Make a backup first, copy it somewhere else.(Also the saves folder has all your carreer so you should always have this backuped) Persistent.sfs it's a text file, so open it with your Notepad(or any text editor). Control+F to do a search for ROSTER and then search for Jebediah Kerman and Valentina Kerman.(Dont Search their names first because they are all over the place). All of your Kerbals are under ROSTER . Change the state = Assigned to state = Available I think it should fix it.Uhhh I hope it does, make a backup first . If you have more energy after that you could also try Verifying Files if you are on Steam.(Library->Right Click Kerbal->Properties->Local Files) -
Do you use rapier engines(or air breathing engines)? That sounds that before you switch to rocket mode there is an airbreathing problem to one of the engines that causes the unbalance. You can avoid this by having them Manual Switching and turn them to rocket mode with Action Group before you are too high and they dont get enough air.
-
After you do the ''fix'' hit alt+12, there is a cheat option to locate the features to see if its working without having to drive around. Here is a good post about it:

Some rockets? You mean most rockets, cause anything else than a basic design will fail to follow the best gravity turn path with locked prograde. As you said too many factors in place.

True it did let me down, although it was one of the most happiest letdowns, so all good .

Stage descending on the lower one
Serenity replied to gilflo's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Use the Abort Action Group for the tower if it needs only one ''stage'' to work! Its default key its backspace and feels really good to use it .I think you can also click the alarm button at the top of the screen(Again mind foggy, still havent slept ). Right click to see if you can disable Staging in some parts of it, so they dont appear along the others. If it needs more ''stages'', try putting them in high numbers 8,9 etc in action group . -
I am kinda confused...so this new game(not KSP2), the one we talking about here, will be made by the people who sold Squad or it will be made by Take Two's Squad?
-
You need to use SAS as a guide and not lock to prograde as the post above me said. Launching and following the prograde is not a good idea, you will eventually loose control.Just stay a bit above it and adjust slightly. Make the SAS follow your guidance and not the other way.
